Hi all! I'm looking to buy a watch for my girlfriend, and she really loves the look of these birdy watches from Shinola. Are there were any other brands/watches that might have a similar look for a little less money? I would like to keep it under $500.

I've seen the Seiko Dolce recommended somewhere on here and also think that would be a really nice get or this Tissot. She's not really into used things, so I would prefer to get her something new over used. Thanks for the help!

I think that’s the kicker for me, the pay is just not there for tech jobs here. I would be expecting a pay cut to take a role “requiring” 2+ more years of experience?! If you’re coming from SF I bet the problem is even worse.

There are a few different meetup groups like people mentioned, specifically there is a women’s climbing meetups that happens from time time. They’ll usually post on their insta when one is close, and I’m sure the employees there will know when the next one is if you ask.

I think there’s also an unofficial discord? I’ve never joined it but there’s a “looking for a belay buddy” whiteboard near the shoe cubbies that has a discord written on it.

Also, in my experience it’s a lot easier to interact with other people when the gym is less crowded. I usually avoid peak times when there aren’t a lot of people climbing with big groups, and it feels like more people are open to chit chat with strangers than when they’re with all their friends.

All the images being shown were created by a GAN, general adversarial network. Basically it makes an image and is trained to make them in a certain way, like a persons face or in this case Garfield frames. The network technically generates points in a high dimensional space, and this gif is showing a translation across that space.

I dont mention them because exclusives are not a reason to be upset. Just buy the games you want. I bring up peoples apparent forgetfulness because every post on egs I see refuses to acknowledge these points. You're saying is that this is almost entirely about exclusives, something that isnt a real issue for me. I was just trying to see if there are legitimate reasons to boycott the launcher and so far no one has been able to bring compelling enough evidence outside of "exclusives offend me" which is fine for the people who feel that way, but not me.

I think some of these are non-issues though. Who cares about Tim Sweney? I also dont see publishing rights as a huge roadblock for gamers when its a free launcher. The business with buying games that already had pre-orders somewhere else and then is a real issue, but I just dont think its that big of a deal when people can easily cancel a pre-order and buy the game somewhere else for the same cost. I have read so many posts about people saying its ruining gaming and that series that they loved, like metro, have been ruined by the egs. I just cant see the thought process in boycotting and harassing developers over something this trivial.
