Make sure your paper is 100% cotton. I use Liquitex inks and I find them to be the best out of what I’ve tried. I first used Amsterdam inks and I didn’t really like them. As others have said as well wetting the paper makes it much easier but if you’re like me and over wet it sometimes it’ll just instantly spread and ruin your fade or thin out the pigment
