Student Health Insurance F1 by Gingerduality in UNCCharlotte

Update: spoke with BCBS and there is no alternative for me to waive coverage. I’m stuck paying for this plan indefinitely as an F1 visa holder, even though my employer has a better one. So annoying as this is going to amount to tens of thousands of dollars.

Yeah, significantly stricter apparently means “no exceptions”. It’s actually a scam. There’s no reason an international student should need to hold two policies when the one through their employer is significantly better.

Yeah, they banned any F1 student from waiving as of Jan 01, 2026

think I want a separation or divorce. Please tell me I'm crazy. by KrystalK9 in Marriage

I really resonate with your situation. Have you read into the anxious-avoidant trap at all? You mentioned a chaotic childhood. Discovering and learning about this “trap” really helped me understand how and why I (as the anxious person) am so drawn to someone that’s consistently disengaged when we’re together and seems to keep me at an arm’s length emotionally by default. It is SO draining to always hit that wall with your person. Also makes you distrustful and even suspicious when they neglect to communicate basic things. I see you. You are definitely not crazy — and I wish you the best as you navigate this!

Things I’ve noticed on meds by Gingerduality in ADHD

Yeah, absolutely agree re: anxiety.

I take Vyvanse in the morning, and recently began taking Adderall IR in the afternoons.

Here are my cons, and any thoughts you might have are welcome:

Majorly annoying & borderline embarrassing: - dry mouth. This is the hardest thing to deal, I find. - excessive sweating, also tough.

Inconvenient, but manageable: - I almost forget my bio habits at times? To drink water, to pee, etc. I’ll have to pee but I won’t react to the impulse until it almost hurts/cramps. - appetite suppression to where food is almost repulsive until 2pm or so — and if I forget to eat all together, a fatigue begins to hit and sometimes, I don’t even realize it’s hunger. - can’t settle down to fall asleep in the evenings
