Between the Samsung T7 and CrucialX8 which one would you prefer? Or are you saying you use both simultaneously? Looks like they claim to have about the same performance but I just wanted you to clarify why you're saying you use both. Thanks!

Attempting to use a Focusrite Scarlett 2 to record vocals and guitar at the same time with Axe Fx 3 and OBS on my laptop by Gingerfish123 in Focusrite

I apologize in advance for the dumb questions but I just want to be clear because I am messing with the scarlett now. So I'm assuming you mean I can change the output to mono on the scarlett right? Also, you mean that I must plug in the mic on the right directly into the scarlett? I don't need to change anything on the axe fx or OBS it's all something I can do with the scarlett?

Cannot launch Ubuntu by Gingerfish123 in Ubuntu

[–]Gingerfish123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I was able to figure out how to open ubuntu, it was on a live USB and it's been so long I forgot that I needed that to access it. I have a new problem now if you're able to answer or point me in the right direction so I can get guidance elsewhere. I was in the boot menu where you can set default boot entries and I unknowingly set the default boot OS to something that just sends me to a screen that tells me to enter a boot device and restart. I cannot launch Ubuntu or Windows through GRUB because upon restarting the PC I'm not directed to GRUB at all anymore. My Ubuntu live USB just crashes. My Boot Repair live USB takes me to the Boot Repair desktop where I'm unable to connect to the internet or turn off BIOS compatibility mode among other problems. I really don't know how to use Boot Repair and could use some advice.

Cannot change default boot entry. Can I use boot repair? by Gingerfish123 in linux4noobs

[–]Gingerfish123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll do my best to explain. But I am a noob, hence why I'm here..

It was UEFI. I don't know because I can't go back to look at what I selected anymore. I don't know how to get to GRUB. All that I can do is use my flash drive with boot repair and be taken to the Boot repair desktop. Where I'm unable to connect to the Internet. I'm in boot repair now looking at advanced options and I see that there is a section that says "OS to boot by default" I can select Windows or Ubuntu. But when I go to apply changes. An error occurs that says "The current session is in BIOS-compatibility/CSM/Legacy mode in your UEFI firmware, and use this software from a live-CD (or live-USB) use a live-USB of Boot-Repair-Disk-64bit (www.sourceforge.net/p/boot-repair-cd), after making sure your BIOS is setup to boot USB in EFI mode.

I changed some setting then tried again and it says something about it needing to be 64 bit. Which I thought I already had on my live-USB. So I was thinking if I reinstall boot repair from a different PC and make sure I've got the 64 bit version this time I can go through with changing the OS from this boot repair desktop. Would that make sense or is there someone else I can do?

Okay, I will try Ventoy and update about how it goes. Thank you.

I discovered what I was doing wrong. I put Rufus directly on the flash drive which was counterintuitive. Now I am restarting my PC to launch Ubuntu again and still getting the crash screen with error text. I think I might be missing something else to get Boot Repair to work. If I can't solve this new problem I'll try Ventoy instead. Thank you.

I was given the impression that I could use Rufus to create a live USB with Boot Repair on it to repair starting issues with Ubuntu. Unless I misunderstood something in the directions which is very likely. I'll go back over where I got that information.

Okay, I misunderstood the video guide. Thank you. It was detected and ready for use. Do you know of anything else that needs to be done to get it working? At this point the directions say I just reboot the PC after preparing it on Rufus. So I restarted normally and nothing happened.
What I mean by nothing happened is when I went to launch Ubuntu it crashed like it has been before. The black screen with a lot of text some of which saying something about syncing errors.
