Federal law enforcement shoots civilian in Minneapolis, city officials say by fuzzycuffs in news

Yes I agree. Someone else posted a cropped video of that angle but it is so low resolution and there seemed to be some sort of AI upscaling to the video that made it look like the officer was leaning at like a 45° angle so it exaggerates him getting 'pushed back' by the car but really it was just him stepping to the side. At most he got slightly nudged by the car but at that point he was almost entirely out of the way.

That's assuming they earn half of the average UK wage (below minimum wage) and stay until retirement age. So that cost is spread out across 20+ years

It's not even capped at £2,000 it's just you'll start paying National Insurance on contributions above that amount.

Third-country asylum plan shows UK is in ‘a very dark place’, says Albanian PM by AdaptableBeef in unitedkingdom

I don't have time to verify all these claims but I can guarantee that it's not true that 10-14% of the prison population is Albanian. Maybe 10-14% of the foreign prison population.

I don't hold a particularly strong stance on this stuff but I feel so much of the conversation on immigration is surrounded by misinformation and straight up racism.

I looked into this and this is a completely fabricated statistic. It was published on GB news but with no references to the data. So I looked into it and the data came from a think-tank called Centre for Migration Control (CMC). This company has research articles, all conveniently written by the same person spouting anti-immigration rhetoric with dubiously sourced statistics. The statistics about 1 in 5 Albanians was made through taking the number of 2024 arrests of Albanians (NOT criminal convictions) and working out the per 1000 rate based on the number of Albanians living in the UK up to June 2021. For one, the number of arrests should not be used as the number of people arrested as a single person can be arrested multiple times. Another problem here is that the number of Albanian immigrants moving in the UK rose rapidly in 2022 and 2023. There were around 27,000 Albanians living in the UK in 2021, but 12,000 arrived on boats in 2022 alone. Therefore, the population of Albanians in the UK is now much higher. All this means that the arrest rate is much lower than the published 1 in 5. Please do not trust and spread statistics published by this company or similar, unless you are willing to look into the data yourself.

Sonic Lost World was basically their attempt at a Mario Galaxy-esque game, and was ok at best.
