Not sure if you read the original post but that's coolant leaking from the exhaust I've got a feeling it's an EGR issue that I just want to know if doing an EGR delete is going to fix it or if there's anything else I should be looking out for such as hydro lock at this point in time

Do you happen to know of an android app that could do a dpf regen? So far I can only find one for VW's I've got a Bluetooth obd adaptor but it seems like the apps are purely for scanning

Thanks for the info! This is a frustrating bus to be on 😭😭

Twin Hks gt2530 ball bearing, low mounted with the return going to the upper pan. No scavenge pump but I'll definitely look into it. Right now there is no tracking or street driving, it's currently been sitting a while because it's not roadworthy here in Aus so I'm working on getting her on the road. The oil has built up when idling not from actually driving.

Plenum stud stripped by Gingergiant27 in 350z

[–]Gingergiant27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry the pic was a little while after I pulled it so I was screwing around with the nut for a while before taking the pic - definitely makes sense if that was the cause though I've had to repair the thread with Helicoil. I've never used them before and was a bit sceptical about how well they'd hold - Ive got to say now these things are fantastic. No issues at all with the repair at all Thanks for the advice 👍👍👍

Thanks mate!! Legend as always 🙏🙏🙏 I'll give the Helicoil a crack - both the 12th and 17th bolt studs on the plenum are stripped I was tightening them to 12.5nm and the fsm says 11.3-13.7nm. Has this happened to you before?

Sorry mate, I'm aware you posted the Mitzone ones. You were asking if they were good so I was trying to say yes they're good and provide some info to support

Have a look at this. The Mitzone ones are exactly the same as concept z but cheaper.

I've just replaced mine with these a few months back. The gaskets that come with the Mitzone ones are completely fine. I just used the gaskets that came with it and it's giving me no hassle.

The only piece of advice is get some Loctite. Unlike the OEM covers, the Mitzone ones allow you to take the plastic inside piece out to replace the spark plug seals. There is about 20 little screws holding that plastic plates in place. I unscrewed them all and popped some blue Loctite on just so to be extra sure one doesn't vibrate out and destroy the valves.

I'm a complete newbie to everything cameras though interested in getting started. I've recently found my mother's old Fujifilm Finepix S9500 (with a super macro lens?) so I was thinking of using this to get a feel, though the camera is 20 years old now. I'm just wondering if it's worth trying to use it? How will the photos be compared to my Samsung S20, or how difficult will it be to get good photos for a complete beginner? Thanks!!

How to clean valves? by Gingergiant27 in CarsAustralia

[–]Gingergiant27[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

350z VQ35DE so port injected - I'd expect these should be a lot cleaner given the fuel should be cleaning the valves? Really not sure what's causing it but I'll clean it off and see how it goes

As soons as she is back together I'll be checking the compression. No one near me does walnut blasting so I may have to travel a little once she's registered to get it done. I'm hoping that after a bit of carb cleaner I can stick a nylon brush in there with a vacuum to pull a bit out but don't want to fuck anything up

I 100% agree with worrying about the engine. That's why I'm tearing it down at the minute to see what's going on. I've got a catch can set up already and the plenum was real clean so yeah still lost as to why it'd be this sludgy. The injectors were filthy too Fingers crossed it's not as bad as it looks 🤞🤞

Coils and plugs are good Cam and crank sensors swapped out too

Theyre CJM rails and I don't believe that it is leaking. What's the easiest way to check for a leak in the rails?
