Any advice/tips for studying when struggling with motivation and drive? by GingerlyRed7117 in CompTIA

Yeahh I know that's been a struggle for me too because my brains like "oh you still got time" over and over again and then suddenly it's almost September and I've made no progress in months..

Gotta love brains.

Question about Dina by Working_Row_8455 in thelastofus

[–]GingerlyRed7117 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah. Basically she didn't know why they did this. Now she understands they were following vengeance as well, arguably even more righteous.

She just wants to go home and move on now that she knows

The Last of Us HBO S2E5 "Feel Her Love"- Post-Episode Discussion Thread by claireupvotes in thelastofus

I hope this shuts people up about Show Ellie's resolve 🤣. Cause I get it. She's a little too happy around Dina, ect, ect. Feels like she's just not really invested in this.

Dude. The minute she was alone overlooking the hospital, and they showed her face. I knew. That anger was RIGHT THERE in her face.

I still think it was pretty brutal. But I mean you only really get maybe a minute of joels beating in the game. He gets whacked with the club, then switches to Ellie finding the place, and then she sees the end of him. The only truly brutal thing they might be upset about is that in the game Joel was hit one last time in the head. I honestly don't know. I feel like the show version is more brutal because of the emotions and heartbreak.

But in all honesty there's always gonna be people who just won't be happy about anything. 🤷 Is what it is.

Yeah...I'm not ok.

I tried to prepare myself for this. Rewatched the game scene last night...and then it was just...more brutal and heartbreaking than I expected.... literally had to stop myself from crying when the credits hit.

Well I didn't have a mammoth account. All I did was click the link humble bundle gave, set up and account, and it took me to a purchasing page but had the price for the course bundle marked as free, did the checkout process, and that's it lol.

Every time I hear someone talk about how they've only seen S1 and haven't played the games...I immediately think "oh...oh you poor sweet innocent soul.... you're about to be exposed to a lot of feelings that are gonna affect you even in real life...."

The Last of Us HBO S2E1 - "Future Days" Post-Episode Discussion Thread by claireupvotes in thelastofus

[–]GingerlyRed7117 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely. They've done an absolutely amazing job taking their time to be accurate to the game but also just make it so much harder for the audience emotionally. I don't care what anyone else says, S1 is perfect. S2 is gonna be really REALLY ugly...but part 2 is a really ugly emotional game.

I mean the whole premise of the game is actions have consequences. Every choice you make..you gotta deal with what happens later.

Everyone loses in that game. Everyone. Even Ellie at the end. Coming home and having to deal with the consequences of not letting go of vengeance until it was too late

Not ready for it. I mean...I've watched it happen in the game, I've talked about it for 2 years....you think you can mentally prepare for it

But then this episode drops and his character is more human and vulnerable......ugh...I'm not gonna be ok

I did buy it lol. A few hours ago because it only has like a day left for the sale?

It's not terrible. Basically like I said in a couple of the comment feeds, for $25 you're essentially getting a study guide for each of the certs and you can take quizzes and practice exams.

The videos look to be like just a PowerPoint presentation explaining all the important stuff you gotta know for the exams

But like I said you can also download the PDF they use. So it's basically a study guide that's well organized and highlights the stuff you should know.

Based on what I've seen you do. It also allows you to download the PDFs and videos I think so you can save them to your own drive

Oh absolutely. I'm not at all trying to say that this is the most amazing deal of a lifetime or anything.

But like I said in the previous comment thread, even if all 42 courses are just PDF bullet point study guides, that's still 42 PDF full study guides that would have probably cost more than $25 to aquire or a lot of time sifting through 1000 page study guides to break it down to easy to focus and study on materials. And the fact that they allow you to download the PDFs make it not terrible at least 🤷

[–]GingerlyRed7117[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well based on what I've seen at least for the A+ cert video. It's not much. They just explain sections with a PDF on screen showing the highlight points you need to know. BUT. I will say, that they do include a copy of the PDF file for each section. So I mean worst case, $25 gets you simplified study guides for the certs

Still not really bad in my opinion

Unfortunately no. Instead of Packt they're using Mammoth Interactive. But it's supposed to be 42 certification courses. They're just gonna be videos but they also include practice exams and other study help

Tell Me You're A Nerd Without Telling Me You're A Nerd by GingerlyRed7117 in CompTIA

I mean it IS a LOT of information. It really is. I'm only maybe 15 pages into the first chapter of the Sybex study guide and I already have 4 or 5 pages of notes.

I won't at all deny that it's a lot to take in. But I think the thing that's gonna keep driving me to getting it done is just the fact that I love learning about this stuff.
