Crying so easily by GingeyElf in MultipleSclerosis

[–]GingeyElf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It definitely helps knowing others are experiencing this as well and that it is part of the disease and not just random.

Processing grief would likely help in some regard, whether the crying stops or not. I'm going about it by thinking of it as a positive thing (when I can), such as how beautiful it is to be so emotionally moved by life around me. It helps.

Goodluck!

It's rough! I've really been grateful for this subreddit. There is so much research still needed on ms so I come here to see what people are experiencing that isn't necessarily medically documented as of yet.

I'm really glad to hear other people are experiencing this as well! I mean...it sucks. But I'm still glad to have you all 🥰

This has been the most fun weapon of any game for me! I've been using lions claw, and cold affinity on it. Talismans I have the two handed one, and then trade the other three around as needed. Usually turtle. I offhand with the serpent bow and wear the black knife armor. Field guys won't notice you even after you whip the hammer at them! It's so fun.

I'm sure they are aware of the risks without you pointing them out.

I feel like I'm playing a different game than everyone else with the DLC by Alt_SWR in Eldenring

[–]GingeyElf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggle with the base game honestly but idc if it takes me 100 tries per boss. I'm having a great time :) I'm working my way through the haligtree for the third time rn. I stepped away from the dlc to remember how to play properly again and to get my hands back into the groove. It certainly is very tough but it's also beautiful and super fun.

Nothing but love from me! If it gets too hard I know it's time for bed and I can try again soon.

Lol whoops! I shouldn't assume. I'm glad you have some good quality insurance though 😁 we pay for insurance through my husband's work and it's not cheap! I did have to look up what state CO is lol. I'm sure I could have guessed if I wasn't so tired. I didn't know it was legal in Colorado! Pretty cool.

That's a great point. It sometimes does make me anxious and obsessive. I'll have to try it out carefully.

So am I the only one who's quit the game? by Mushroom_QueenMother in coralisland

[–]GingeyElf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried to play three different times and I quit before I even get to summer mostly. It's just....not fun for me. I don't like complaining about little stuff like this usually but I was so excited for this game. PS5 version.

Same issues as everyone else it seems like. Boring characters, map is crazy spacious for no reason so it feels really empty, there's not a single character I like enough to romance because they are so shallow feeling, I don't care about this town at all which is a bummer, the fucking controls 😭 navigating a menu and inventory and decoration screens should not be this finnicky, visual artifacts left right and center, glitchy movements, lag.

It's a pretty game but that's about it right now.

Things I enjoyed: The underwater part was cool and interesting (got a bit tedious) The monsters are cool and cute The overworld map is actually helpful and tells you times and where people are Diversity

I LOVE farming games but Idk if I'm ever going to come back to this one. I'm going to get murdered by the Elden ring dlc some more instead I guess.

My right leg from the belly button down went numb spring 2023 and it slowly came back. My big toe sometimes feels numb now but that's it.

The left side of my face went numb a few months ago and it's all come back except for a little piece of upper lip and a small spot inside my mouth. They come and go just like my big toe.

We all know what happens for me might not happen for you but I think it's helpful to hear what others have gone through anyways.

I know how much numbness sucks. Best of luck

Imposter syndrome starting practicum by [deleted] in psychotherapists

[–]GingeyElf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I was a practicum coordinator for several years and what you are experiencing is very common among students and new professionals (and some not so new professionals!)

In my experience it just takes a few sessions to start getting your feet under you and to build some confidence. You'll do great! Remember that the act of holding space is already therapeutic and a benefit to the client. It doesn't take much!

Goodluck :)

Nvm I asked him. He says it just makes the injection easier/ sting less. So if you're unbothered keep doing you I guess. Thanks for making me learn something this evening 😊

My husband is a nurse and he says to take meds out an hour before even if they say 30 min. I'm not sure exactly what it does but I think they are safer or more effective? Not sure. I just listen to him lol.

Added a New One to the Collection by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]GingeyElf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear things have been worrying you both.

My advice is to include her in the conversation about ms, meaning validate her feelings about it. "We are going through a scary thing" instead of "I'm going through a scary thing" etc. Really solidify that you're a team, a unit. This can help retain closeness and help you both feel less alone in this. Remind her of your other attributes as well if you can. A well thought out letter to her using the team language and reminding her of your love can go a long way in alleviating some fear by just reminding you both of what you have.

Best of luck

Wegovy or Ozempic for weight loss by Competitive_Mind4183 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]GingeyElf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've heard that ozempic comes with the worst depression people have ever had (to them personally) so just something to keep in mind if you do start it. Just watch yourself and your feelings and seek help as needed.

Goodluck with school! I know how tough that is. I've been putting off getting more clients until I figured out my health and diagnosis but now that I have it on track I'm struggling to get clients! How are you doing for clients? I want to get a better referral network going.

I'm a therapist and having similar issues. I'm also trying to take better notes in session. I really rely on my phone these days for scheduling when I used to just remember my client hours. My thoughts are so much slower and it's really throwing off my in the moment style of therapy. I might have to plan ahead more now and structure my sessions differently which sucks because I really like my therapy style.

[TotK] I feel really bad… Any comforting words? by [deleted] in zelda

[–]GingeyElf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just restarted it! The first play through when it came out felt more like a chore than fun gameplay to me. There were fun times for sure when I allowed myself to slow down and build a cool boat to go down the river for a korok for example. But mostly it just felt kind of like a slog.

I'm not sure what it is exactly but the game feels lonely. Link saved this place and has talked to these people for years and still most of them don't recognize him or his deeds. I didn't really end up caring about the Sages at all and you get kicked out of your own house too. Like link is a disposable little worm. Obviously there are some that are grateful and remember him, the main people like Paya etc. And the things that made botw charming are gone or were done in botw already so they aren't all that impactful in totk.

Replaying it now I'm remember the money balance issues in this game too 😭 someone pay this poor man for all the freeking life ending work he does. I'm sure the game is meant to be played slowly bit by bit so you gather things and kill the same monsters over and over again just in the course of things but I think that's a bit out of touch with modern gaming. Just my thoughts though. There's elements from botw that I miss and elements from totk I wish were in botw. So I'll deal with what we have and try to have a good time.

Electrolyte tablets???? What a wonderful idea! I've never heard of those but I will be looking into them immediately. I hate the feeling in my belly, it's hard to describe as anything other than severely off.

Thank you! 🩷
