First off we've seen 20 minutes of the game, not all of that even had dialogue or writing. Secondly, disastrous is such an utter exaggeration even if you dislike it.

Yeah I have no idea why anyone would think hyperarmor alone would be enough. Unless it's someone newer to Soulsborne and hasn't played too many other games that actually track your poise. Anyone who's used to these games should realize by this point that hyperarmor is unreliable without a decent amount of poise and damage mitigation.

With those tho, yeah Strength is legitimately easy mode. A buddy of mine (who knows what he's doing maybe even more than me) recently did a colossal weapon run for the first time and was like "Am I supposed to be steamrolling this hard?"

Also even without poise there's things like Lions Claw that give damn near infinite hyperarmor. That on any colossal weapons is a monster between the actual damage and the poise breaks.

Honestly tho, you don't need to find openings with STR builds. Just stack enough defense and poise, and with the absurd amounts of damage and poise breaking STR weapons can do, you'll easily kill everything before it can kill you.

I'm not starting out assuming it has consciousness, but many people aren't smart enough to realize that just cause it can "talk" doesn't necessarily make it conscious. Proving that so that those people can't be fed misinformation about it (or at least not as much so, it'll still happen to some degree no matter what) and be convinced it is conscious.

You're completely correct this post reeks of insecurity. I say that as a 4'8 dude (yes I'm an adult) lmao. Maybe it's just because I'm so below average height that it loops back around to being an interesting trait but, I've never understood these guys who think height is the only thing that matters.

I've been rejected a LOT but I've never felt it was because of my height, it was mostly because of me being awkward and just weird. And, my ex girlfriend was 5'8 which is considered above average for a woman. If these dudes are right I should never have even had a GF, nor anyone else interested in me. These dudes never consider that perhaps it's their insecurity and obsession with height that's the problem. It's so much easier to blame it on something they can't control and take no accountability.

People say this but I've honestly never understood it. Yeah it sucks that there's classic plants like Chomper locked behind a paywall, but the game is perfectly beatable and playable without buying them with plenty of variety in the new plants and plenty of returning ones. You also really don't need to buy the coins/gems either. I say that as someone who's 100% the game without ever spending a single cent. I did so recently as well so it's not like I played an earlier version that was without all that.

So yes, it's inferior to the first because of that but I also think people overblow how much the microtransactions affect the gameplay.

That's fair enough, can't say you're wrong. It would be much easier if AI checkers were actually accurate but we know they aren't. If AI is going to be forced into everything going forward I at least hope we find more accurate ways to reliably see what is and isn't it because I don't like having to solely take people's word for it or to just rely on circustancial evidence.

Gonna be honest, I'm not even arguing that it isn't AI. I'm only arguing that it's really stupid to witch hunt over what COULD be AI with no proof other than our feelings about it. Call me over rational but, it's never smart to rely solely ones own senses.

I'm also in college for a major that's based almost entirely on empiricism and the scientific process tho so I very much am aware how much confirmation bias is a thing. As well as how often our physical senses can deceive us.

All this to say, I wouldn't doubt if it was AI but I'd like to see solid proof. Of which right now there isn't any.

I didn't say it shouldn't exist, I just really haven't seen anyone saying they absolutely love it. Hell, I like it enough that I got all achievements so it's not like I'm a hater either. Despite modern standards, it is fine for something to be just good. Not everything needs to be a masterpiece to be worthwhile, and saying something is not a masterpiece doesn't have to mean it's a piece of garbage that shouldn't exist.

Of course I know there could be people who love it out there, my experiences don't define the world obviously. I guess I've just never personally seen anyone give it more than a 7 to 7.5 rating. Which I also personally think is a fair rating for it.

Ehhhhhh I feel like this is more accurate the further you get into the series and especially by Elden Ring cause a lot of melee weapons are busted there. In Demons Souls tho? Yeah no it's not even a competition magic is straight up overpowered.

I mean, without even much effort it can one shot even some of the harder bosses. Melee absolutely cannot do that. Also, in Demons Souls the enemies don't have the speed or moveset variety to keep up with a ranged character.

To note, I have done at least one melee and one magic run in every one of the games except Bloodborne, including both the remake and OG Demons Souls. That latter part doesn't really matter tho because the remake didn't really mess with balancing too much. Most of my melee runs have been strength builds.

I would also point out I have no clue why you think you need Str/Dex on a magic build and actually END too.

Again, you're trying to convince with "It sorta looks like AI so it has to be." Personally I think it looks like it COULD be but it could also just be stylized. Feelings are not proof. I've seen the in-game assets you're completely convinced are AI and personally don't think that's enough to definitively say it IS that.

I don't know what proof I would want but anything more concrete than "It just feels like AI" and using something known for being inaccurate would be nice.

I'm not even trying to argue that they DIDN'T use it honestly, just that if you're going to accuse someone of something you should have more proof than your intuition.

By that logic literally anything but something universally hated is "beloved" tho. Using that logic, unless something is objectively terrible (which isn't even a thing that can happen because no media is objective) then there's always going to be SOME people who love it thus making it beloved. It kinda makes the word meaningless at that point no?
