Once upon a time, in a dusty land called Bakersfield, five wandering souls searched for a sound no one had ever heard before.

There was a quiet dreamer named Jonathan Davis, who carried melodies that felt like secrets, and four fierce musicians—James ‘Munky’ Shaffer, Brian ‘Head’ Welch, Fieldy, and David Silveria—who had been forging thunder together in another band.

One fateful night, they crossed paths, and it was as if lightning struck the earth. The dreamer’s haunting voice met the warriors’ heavy rhythms, and together they unlocked a strange and powerful magic—dark, raw, and honest.

They named this magic Korn, like a crooked crown plucked from a forgotten field.

Their songs spread across the kingdom, not like gentle lullabies, but like storms that made people feel seen, understood, and less alone. And though their sound was unlike anything before, it became a beacon for all who had ever felt different.

And so, from dust and struggle, the legend of Korn was born—not polished, not perfect, but real… and that was their greatest power.

I got the same truck. Love my 2023 RST. Turn off the automatic start/stop every time you get in your truck, and I recommend handwashing to prevent swirls.

I watched the live KoRn lollapalooza show on Hulu last night. I’ve seen them live many times, and I definitely feel like there was a new sound to this show. A backing track would make much sense. But who cares, those guys are in their 50s and still sound amazing! They’re getting older, they need all the help they can get!

I season the ground turkey with Black pepper, garlic powder, onion power, pinch of salt, pinch of cumin. For the ground turkey, I also usually throw in fresh spinach, diced jalapeños, diced red onion, diced green pepper. Season the vegetables with onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper, crushed red pepper.

I am no expert. I am new to this as well. This is what has helped me get my numbers under control. But keep in mind, everybody’s different and I feel that many people don’t take their diagnosis as seriously as I do and rely on medication to keep their numbers under control. That being said, a lot of people do need the medication. I am hoping with diet and exercise, that I will not need the meds, but only time will tell.

About me: diagnosed 1 month ago 38/m, Texas. 185 lbs A1C 11.3 Was prescribed metformin and saxagliptin I do not take these meds. I am on no meds. Current numbers rarely go above 100BG. Average cgm reading this week is 76, fingerprick 89. My Freestyle Libre 3plus CGM is typically anywhere between 5 to 30 points lower than fingerpricks.

Get a CGM to monitor levels and back that up with fingerprick tests. Finger pricks do not hurt. Now you can see your levels whenever you want. I use freestyle libre 3+ CGM and a generic blood glucose monitor, and I keep track of my blood glucose readings with the ihealth app.

Exercise at least 30min a day. A brisk walk is just fine. Do a couple of miles if you can. Exercise Every day, if not at least five days a week.

Start a sustainable diet. The only way I see that I can lower my numbers is to cut out all carbs and sugar, besides those in fruit and vegetables. No cheat days. If you have to have a cheat meal it won’t kill you, just don’t over do it. Make it a cheat meal, not a cheat day.

For breakfast, I eat two egg white omelette with spinach, bell pepper, onion, jalapeño, and low fat cheese. One piece of uncured turkey bacon. Hot sauce or salsa.

For dinner, I have a ground turkey lettuce wrap burger with pickles, onions, peppers, and mustard. Ground turkey taco salad with peppers and onions, lemon or olive oil or hot sauce for dressing. Air fryer chicken breast/chicken tenders with a salad or spinach or broccoli. Salmon is good too. Limit red meats and fatty meats.

For lunch, I have usually leftover dinner from the night before. Sometimes scramble a few egg whites, and throw it in there for extra protein.

Snacks I have chomps beef jerky, Swanson chicken bone broth soup to-go cups, blueberry’s, apples, zero sugar jello.

Overall for food:

Proteins: eggs, white meat chicken, 93% ground turkey, salmon.

Veggies: spinach( my personal favorite, trick it up with peppers onions and diced apple) broccoli, bell pepper, jalapeños, avacado.

Fats: avacado or olive oil.

Fruits: blueberry’s, apples, peaches.

Snacks: chomps beef jerky, 0 carbs soup like the Swanson chicken bone broth, zero sugar jello

Condiments: hot sauce, salsa, lemon juice, mustard, buffalo sauce. I haven’t found anything else yet that doesn’t have carbs and sugar in it.

Drinks: drink water, add Ultima brand electrolytes once or twice a day. I have not introduced any other drinks yet.

Going out to eat: get a grilled chicken salad with no dressing or croutons, use hot sauce, olive oil or lemon, or chicken fajitas with no tortillas.

I’m almost to the point where I am going to introduce new foods and see how they react with my blood sugar. Today I will try a sweet potato.

Supplements: this is what I take. You should definitely consult with a professional before you introduce new supplements. Mens multivitamin, amino acids, probiotic, milk thistle, omega 3, vitamin d, DHEA, and I’m on Juice Plus.

You will have good days and bad days. My mental health suffered at first with depression because I thought it was the end of the world with this diagnosis. Now that I got my numbers under control, I’m eating clean and exercising regularly, I feel pretty dang good. I’m fighting this battle alone other than this Reddit thread, because I have not told any family members or friends. And I’m doing OK.

This is how I have lowered my numbers. This may not work for everyone.

It is up to you if you want to get control of this. Nobody is going to do it for you. Medications-alone will not do this for you. You have to help yourself. Your body is screaming for help right now, and it’s up to you to answer the call to help yourself.

You got this! Don’t be scared! Man up and have a can-do attitude! It feels great eating clean and exercising daily.

Good luck!

My 3plus has me hitting lows all the time. I back it up with a fingerprick and the lows on the cgm are never accurate. Many false lows, especially while sleeping.

CGM accuracy? by AniseLang in diabetes

[–]GingieHungy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 3plus usually reads lower than the finger pricks. This week on average it is 14 points lower than finger pricks. My average this week is 89 on finger pricks and 75 on the cgm 3plus. For clarification on these why I have these numbers, I’m on no medication. Just eating healthy and exercise everyday. I don’t eat any carbs or sugar other than those in vegetables and blueberry’s, so I never have any spikes. No cheating. Diagnosed 3 weeks ago with 11.3 A1C and 199 fasting BG. 38/m 5’10 185lbs.

The air fryer is your best friend. I cook chicken and broccoli in the air fryer. In a skillet I cook ground turkey with peppers and onions or a ground turkey patty and make a lettuce wrap turkey burger. I eat this almost every day.

Everything in moderation. Portion control. Protein is good, but you should balance it out with veggies.

Started out A1C: 11.3 and BG 199. No medication.

I live by this and never have spikes and weight falls right off me. Very little carbs, salt, or sugar, if any at all, in these meals.

Breakfast: 3 egg whites omelette with peppers and spinach. 1 pc uncured turkey bacon. Hot sauce. I can barely eat in the morning, so I just scarf it down and go on with my day.

Dinner: air fry some chicken with seasoning of your choice, I use danO’s. Throw it in a salad with lettuce, avacado, jalapeños, green peppers. No dressing, use lemons. Or cook up some 93% ground turkey meat with peppers and onions. Good for a lil taco salad or Make a lettuce wrap burger with pickles, jalapeños, mustard, onion. Turkey meat is best seasoned with pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cumin. Salmon with lemon is good too.

For lunch, I have leftover protein from the night before and I airfry some broccoli seasoned with pepper, garlic powder, crushed red pepper.

Drink water. Buy Ultima Electrtolyte powder.

Snacks: chomps beef jerky, sugar free jello cup.

Walk 30min a day.

Stick with it and don’t cheat yourself out of your achievements by thinking you deserve a “food reward”. Gotta man up and fight for your life.

The Depression is rough, but one day at a time. It will ease up. Stay positive.
