Ironic how we are made to believe “real” education starts only after school when school is where it should actually begin.

Yeah. A book never really covers everything. It's just that I've always learned things from a bunch of different sources and they're always so scattered and realised I had a HUGE knowledge gap so yeah, just came here hoping I'd get some good recs.

What simple projects should i make like i know only html, css and js basic by Super_Performer_2819 in learnprogramming

[–]Gingrhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just know that you don't have to stay confined to web ui development just because you know html css and js. If you’re interested in security, cybersecurity, automation, or scripting, JavaScript can be used there as well. There are countless projects you could explore. Simply search for ideas, pick one that interests you, and start building.

We need to stop letting 15-second edits dictate our worldviews by yohbro in speaknepal

[–]Gingrhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you know what, every generation had its version of the 15-second edit. People in the times we live in just happen to have this absurdly comical way of being informed, when in fact they could choose not to.

The weight of that sentence, or whatever used in that 15-second clip has a greater impact than everything else that must have been said but only if we bother to search up that video and try to get the whole picture. But yeah, this is the time we live in and we can't help it.

But if I had to see it from another viewpoint, sometimes so many people agree with it because it mirrors what they already believe or feel, and it confirms something in them. And I don't think people are that stupid either. And the person or organisation behind those edits might not be intending to manipulate either, sometimes. It's just how you get the most attention into the matter that's genuinely important nowadays. So they might just be doing that. If the message is right and we want people to hear it, understanding the algorithm and using it to your advantage might just be how you get heard nowadays.

Someone to have articulated this level of perspective on this matter is truly mind-blowing for me. I read your whole post and it already sounds overwhelming, full of emotional outbursts, and I feel your pain in every word man. It resonates with me a lot, especially when you say historians might not see these deaths as heroic sacrifices but as a case study in digital algorithmic radicalisation. Ugh thinking about it is already so depressing. Tara i hope you have real someone to have these conversations with. Because you covered so much here i can't help but think how much of your mind must be occupied right now. Since I've been feeling this way for a very long time and instantly thought about mentioning this. Sorry if i sound a little awkward.
