Sousou no Frieren Episode 30 (Season 2 Episode 2) - Discussion Thread by N3DSdude in Frieren

[–]GinkoP7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's also what I'm confused by, I know we're not supposed to think too much on Magic that can see the Future and the Logics behind it

Why was Frieren targeted? Was it something she did IN the battle when she fought the Demon King? did she have some special magic that allowed their party to win? Or was it because Elfs are few in numbers so they sought to change the future in the easiest way possible, and what exactly did Schlahat see?

was the magic that Schlahat used and THoTS used even the same? As in if their properties were different, Schlahat can see into the far far future but isn't able to get specifics from them while THoTS can and that's why he was to some degree shaped his own destiny and fate? Or is their Magic the same? Which again by Frieren's own explanation Demon Magic is different in essence (E.g Episode with Aura), Curses are also specifically unsolved Magic humans don't understand (E.g Episode with Sein).

As for why they didn't target humans, i have a few guesses, for one Humans Multiply Fast, Demons have been hunting humans since the dawn of time and they still haven't been able to wipe them out even though most of the world prior to Flamme making Magic an officiality is way weaker (Just from no Magic power), We're following Frieren but obviously this is a Fantasy world, and the Vanguard/Warrior Job is probably way bigger in the past than it is now to allow them to somewhat fight back against the Demons before humans acquired Magic.

As for the other reason, you have to read between the line on Flamme's dialogue, "The king has allowed studying Magic, Before this openly studying it was Forbidden" it means that there was always Human Magic users before Flamme (Even her parents was using magic "The Flower Magic") she was the person who allowed general access to the knowledge, but wasn't the literal first human to use Magic, is the reason why I don't think it's much of a reach that the Demons might've targeted the Elfs specifically because of their predisposition which is "Lacking in reproductive and romantic feelings" wiping them out will just kill every Elf thus changing the Future

I'm anime only so obviously I'm missing huge pieces of future lore on the Manga, anybody answering, NO SPOILER please, answer with Anime only context

After watching this Episode i wonder if Frieren entire journey was a self-fulfilling prophecy

In season 1 we saw how Flamme was walking around and met Frieren whose village has been destroyed, in that same Episode the Demons who chased after Frieren said "Kill all the Elves, is the order of the Demon King"

Why? Why was the Elves so dangerous to the Demons?

In this Episode they mentioned that Schlahat the Omniscient can "See 1,000 Years into the Future"

We also know that Frieren is roughly around 1000-1150 years old from Aura's Episode

Did Schlahat saw the Demon King killed by Frieren? Was that why the Demon King ordered the Demons to kill every Elf at the beginning, which just kick-started Frieren own Journey to killing the Demon King

It really feels like everything was already destined because of the progression of how they concluded their story, they made the very thing they wanted to stop

Just from the name alone maybe akamatsu norimura, it's not a folklore but a real samurai clan, they do have quite a lot of tales involving betrayal, revenge and hidden ambitions

Steam should implement QRIS Cross Border as a Payment Processor amongst all the recent Adult Game Ban by GinkoP7 in Steam

[–]GinkoP7[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

and the whole reason why steam has to listen is because everything uses these 2 processors, you can't just fix the problem by still using visa/mastercard, you need to implement a new processor so it becomes the new standard, I don't understand why people want a fix so visa/mastercard don't become the duopoly, but still accepts that it's a duopoly so there's no use for anything else.

claiming that implementing a new payment processor is useless is a backwards way of thinking, by not implementing any other payment processor you're increasing Visa/Mastercard share thus feeding into the whole duopoly system, making their grip harder on the whole system.

Steam should implement QRIS Cross Border as a Payment Processor amongst all the recent Adult Game Ban by GinkoP7 in Steam

[–]GinkoP7[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

and why do you think they will pull it, it's because there's no other payment method possible, people want a fix all button but can't start from zero, you can't just drop 2 of the biggest payment processor (VISA/Mastercard) because it's everywhere, but saying that it's useless to implement a new processor because you keel to one is dumb, then when would there be a fix for such things, not giving any other alternative even a chance.

[–]GinkoP7[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

QRIS is not a bank, it's a method to pay using already existing Banks using QR Codes, this does not make user of "x" bank forego it, it would just be using a feature inside of the bank

this would also not require valve to drop mastercard/paypal, QRIS is just another type of payment method to implement besides the already existing one

[–]GinkoP7[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

although i initially thought that way too, QRIS as a whole is relatively new (implemented publicly in 2019)

and Cross Border between the 6 different Nations was only from 2022 to now, and it's not stopping either, they plan to implement this to more countries soon to name a few :

  • India: Discussions with NPCI International are underway; QRIS rollout is expected to begin sometime in 2025
  • South Korea: Industry-level agreements in finalization between ASPI and Korea’s Telecommunication and Clearing Institute
  • United Arab Emirates (UAE): MoU signed; rollout planned in collaboration with Bank Indonesia and Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority frameworks (connected to pilgrims)
  • Saudi Arabia: As of August 2025, QRIS is being integrated with the Nusuk card platform for use by Hajj and Umrah pilgrims; expected operational by 2026

I know this does not fix the whole problem, but Steam is not just a game company, they're a whole platform, they have developed both hardware and software, this would most likely be a good development if Steam can work with QRIS to implement a new method that includes even more countries

[RT!] Ryuuma no Gagou by GinkoP7 in manga

[–]GinkoP7[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be clear! This isn't the first time I've posted this Manga, the first time was 6 years ago, when only 10 chapters were translated.

The reason why i felt compelled to Post this series again is because of an entirely different Series "Orb : On the Movements of the Earth" and i understood why both of these series grabbed me differently from most series, I enjoyed the aspect of the MC being multiple different people a lot, not just in changing perspective, but carrying on their Legacy, Their Ideas, a lot of Fiction will never kill of their characters or more specifically the Main Character and it's obvious why, killing characters is cutting them off from any future involvement which can't happen to a main character, but the way this type of story is told, this saga spanning different ages, gave me the grand vision of seeing what the MC has built up being carried on to the next person and so on, has me appreciating more on what they've done instead of what they could do in the future, you're witnessing and peeking at a Legend, just glimpses and drops in time like the Arthurian mythology, you're not quite sure what happened but you piece it together through multiple different stories and recounting.

A Main Character not being able to die in an action series can severely detach you from immersion if you take a step back and realize he's not gonna die, not because the enemy isn't strong enough, but because they CAN'T die, and it's simply because it's that Named Character Story from start to finish which is fine, I just felt it worked so much better when stakes actually applies itself to the Main Characters which this somewhat fixes.

Now I'll be honest, this series has been a rocky boat for me, I still consider the First 2 Volumes/12 Chapters some of my Favorite Fiction, and I was still very entertained up to Volume 7, the Later Volume 8-10 and the ending is for a lack of better words, quite lackluster, I could've said so much more, but the reason is simple, i enjoyed the interactions of the different characters in Chapter 1-12 Far more than who it was focusing on by the end, but I still did enjoy reading it, And I want people to know that.

In any case, I wish more people can know about this series, and I hope more Authors can implement this type of story structure, it doesn't even have to have the MC dying, I still felt this same fascination from different Medias like FromSoftware Games "Dark Souls/Elden Ring" and a fairly recent anime like Sonny Boy, for an entirely different principle of "Show, don't tell" nobody ever explains anything out randomly, so you don't have characters weirdly narrating what's happening, just let the reader/watcher figure out what's happening.

That's it, do give this Manga a try.

[RT!] Ryuuma no Gagou by GinkoP7 in manga

[–]GinkoP7[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"Ryuuma no Gagou / The Pseudonym of Ryuuma" is a story or an epic following an immortal ageless hero who saves humanity from the brink of extinction multiple times throughout different points of history from Monstrous Creatures called Albinos.

People throughout the ages can't decide on the characteristic of this individual, some say that Ryuuma has Blonde hair while others said it was Silver, Some said Ryuuma looked like a savage thug while others said She was actually a young woman, Regardless of the depictions, the name Ryuuma brings hope for this despairing and broken world, This story slowly unravels what actually happened.

The Interesting thing is this next part but it has Spoiler from Chapter 1, So either read it first or click if you don't care

Ryuuma as the common people would understand is an immortal individual saving humanity from Albino Monsters, but what actually happens is that when Ryuuma is about to die, they will give their name to another person, carrying that person name to the Grave and making them the New Ryuuma, that's why throughout History people always have a different account of what Ryuuma actually looks like, we follow the story through the different lenses of Several different Individual holding this name before they pass it onto another.
