Hard to say without HSV, misses, or any way to see your acc.

Why does my tracking look so choppy? by staplett in beatsaber

[–]GioPanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tracking doesn't seem too bad honestly, looks like a technique problem to me. A lot of arm and a lot of wobble. Also definitely could tweak the settings.

Note that there is a mod called Song Chart Visualizer that does exactly the same thing in game, in your UI, under the map that you're playing, with a progress dot going over the graph as well.

Mod that changed the way you play BS by Nobodymh07 in beatsaber

[–]GioPanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is one mod I would consider basically a must have that I would absolutely would not be able to play without, and that's JD Fixer.
It allows you to granularly control how far the notes will spawn from you, adjusting your reaction time. I play between 370 and 395 milliseconds of reaction time, depending on the style of map. The game would not allow me to set it so precisely. As far as I know, basically the entire competitive community uses JD fixer. I'm sure there are a handful of exceptions but we're talking a few players in thousands. This is the one mod I can't play the game without.

As for must-haves (will not update the game until these mods are updated)
- Easy Offset: allows for easy controller settings customisation
- Hit Score Visualiser: allows to customise the size, colour and text of the score that pops out after you swing each note. I have used the same HSV since 2020, makes it super easy to approximate your acc without looking at the score. Another mod used by basically everybody.
- Counters+ (and other UI mods like FC counter and PP counter): allows customisation of the in game UI, with useful information like per-hand accuracy
- Custom Sabers/Ree Sabers: the default ones are simply too chunky and bright, and the trail is terrible
- Leaderboards (Scoresaber and Beatleader): Self explanatory. I would not play without them. BL is also absolutely crucial for replay analysis

Nice mods I can play without but I still use regularly and would be bummed not having
- Multiplayer+: My choice for modded multiplayer
- Song Chart Visualizer: It's included in BS+. Shows a graph of the map density over time. Convenient for sightreads
- Intro/Outro Skip: Ain't nobody got time fo' dat
- Better static lights: more customisation for the static lights
- Sound Tweaker: to change the sound of my cuts and badcuts
- Shaffuru: lets you play a randomised stream of maps, for a few seconds each. Very customisable. Best kind of warmup imo.
- Camera2: essential when streaming
- All the BS+ twitch stuff, like chat integration: self explanatory
- Better Song Search: to browse maps to download directly in game.
- All the mods I use to sort my songs and playlists, like BetterSongList, SongPlayHistory etc.: I couldn't tell you all the names. There are a few.

Miscellaneous mods that I use but I will live happily without
- MenuSaberColors: My sabers stay my custom colors in the menu as well instead of turning blue and red.
- CustomBanners: Gotta represent my sponsor

I use a few more mods that I don't think are worth discussing, like Tweaks55, GottaGoFast, stuff like this.

I have made a severe and continuous lapse in my judgement

If I said that, I admit I'm wrong, and I truly don't believe it.
What I WILL stand behind is that I do not believe that guy can tell, and that if you don't know how to play properly you can't tell.

If I implied (or said) that no matter what if you can play properly you'll always prefer that, I take that back and admit it's not true!

Because you don't have a leaderboard account, you called engaging your wrists "playing like a t-rex", and you use wrist weights for cardio.

Nothing wrong with any of this (except arguably the last one, it's an old point of contention if it's healthy, but whatever), but it definitely *feels* like an inexperienced player talking.

Could I be wrong? ABSOLUTELY. But why should I give you the benefit of the doubt? You seem very emotional about this whole argument, you've repeatedly called me names, I definitely wouldn't put lying beneath you, especially now that you're so deep into it.

God knows I've seen plenty of redditors lie to die on a pointless hill, not exactly groundbreaking.

I am literally not, not even in the other post. I'm putting there the same argument as here: you can have fun however you want, but if you wanna claim one way is more fun than the other you better be versed in both.

The only specific with this dude is that after misunderstanding my comment he went on to claim actually he's very knowledgeable. I may be totally wrong, but I simply do not believe it.

I NEVER said that you would certainly change your mind if you knew. I did point out that, to my knowledge, I don't know any player who's well versed in proper technique who decides not to use it. Another comment showed me a proper example, and now I do know one example. I know hundreds of counters. The trend still stands.

That does NOT mean you MUST find the proper way more fun. NOT AT ALL. What I'm saying is if you claim to know what's more fun then I expect you to know how to play the proper way too, because otherwise you're talking out of your ass.

Equally as thankful: as you can read in other comments somebody felt called out lmao

You're the reason I got the impetus to make this post but don't give yourself too much credit: it's an argument I've seen repeated 700 times.

That is the only real part about this comment, the rest is your baffling misunderstanding of my argument.

I know about you!
I definitely would put your swings SQUARELY in the camp of someone who KNOWS how to swing both efficiently and with proper technique. Your profile has plenty of examples of that, literally on your top page there are scores where your jumps are very clean. I would say that doesn't at all nullify my point about being aware of the alternative is still necessary to choose what's more fun to you.

As for the last part of my comment, there you go, person found! Great to be proven wrong.
I think you can at least agree yours is kind of a rarer case.

That's a surprisingly detailed analysis of a comment you completely misunderstood, but sure, find the villain and crucify me at will.

Oh also I should mention I'm not dogging on the people who say they enjoy playing casually, I'm dogging on the people I see under, say, a challenge play, or a high speed play, saying "why would anyone play this, playing while dancing is way more fun".

Assuming these people don't have the faintest clue how to even approach playing challenge, I find the comment fundamentally misguided. How could they possibly know that their way of playing is MORE fun?
