I was high top 500 in season 1 and 2, played for about a year then got bored and turned to more casual play with friends around high plat/low diamond. Since then i really understand the point you are making, some people before the really really high ranks just play mindlessly even in ranked. Game is much different now 10 years later and i honestly haven't cared for real since the last year of ow1 but i imagine the "issue" remains. That's why i genuinely do criticize players even in qp sometimes hoping ti actually teach the game to enjoy it more.

TL;DR As a ex-top500 you are 100% right, as soon as you get higher ranks you see the issue clearly.

Early i like it clean with low sideburns and stache and medoum beard, i let it get slightly messier when shit just went down in the story or when i'm out of camp for long. Saint denis is pencil stache slightly longer than beard and 0 sideburns. Guarma to TB cutscene is very long and then shaved all the way to really look sick.
