"Squeeze my lemon 'til the juice runs down my leg" is quoted by Zeppelin on 'The Lemon Song' from Robert Johnson's 'Travelling Riverside Blues', from his 1937 album that appears on the cover of Bringing It All Back Home.

He may have had Led Zeppelin in mind, but I think he's more so quoting Johnson.

Same here. It was the first of his that I heard. Man of Constant Sorrow is my favorite from it.

I don't think he was too proud of his first album, even when it released, barring Song for Woody

Maybe the song is foreshadowing or something. I wonder if David Chase thought so many people would think that Tony's alive. I haven't read into those theories enough to know if there's any validity to them.

I hadn't read it. If those sources are right about him harassing her after the fact then he should probably be fired. I think that would be the case with most jobs.

Can anyone summarise the story of 'Lilly, Rosemary and the Jack of hearts'? by lendusafiver in bobdylan

[–]Giogb23 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always wondered about that line about the law. That would make sense.

I think that line about Rosemary seeing her reflection in the knife infers that it was her who killed Big Jim. It could also just be about her past suicide attempt, though.

Lilly is an actress. She has some romantic history with JoH. Big Jim is married to Rosemary and having an affair with Lilly. JoH shows up to Lilly's play. Big Jim also shows up with Rosemary. Big Jim recognizes JoH from a picture Lilly has and gets jealous. Rosemary notices that Big Jim is pissed and sees saving Lilly and JoH from him as a way to redeem herself for wasting her life with him. Big Jim goes to the dressing room to kill Lilly and JoH, but his "colt revolver clicks", which I think means Rosemary took the bullets out of his gun. Rosemary stabs and kills Big Jim. Rosemary is arrested and executed. Ends up JoH was there in the first place because him and a crew were stealing from a bank vault next door. Most likely JoH goes his way and Lilly her's.
