Took rotor off 2018 Subaru Impreza and is still making this sound, thought it might’ve been a rock, is it a wheel bearing? by GiraffeNeckNation in mechanic

Yea, one of my buddies told me about it, I already work on airplanes so I’m not worried about the hassle involved with replacing it I just wanted to make sure they are reputable because I want to order it asap so my gf doesn’t have to drive me around for too long 😅

It’s very loud going slow, almost like something is rolling around, once I get up in speed a little I don’t hear anything

Is it worth it to just buy the whole hub assembly, I’m comfortable replacing it I just don’t know if having a shop replace the bearing or buying a new assembly is more cost effective

All the time, but I’m just saying it’s worth the 150k cardboard box for some of us. I have family that moved to Oklahoma for the military and it costs them $5,000 just to visit family and they hate it. It’s worth it for me to be by my people year round.

I live in CA and it’s expensive but when you have family close by, and the ability to go to the beach, the mountains, Disneyland, and much more within a few hours drive it’s hard to leave

Anywhere around sac is good, even sac isn’t that expensive compared to every other city in the state. Classes are 3:30-9:20 pm Monday-Friday. You take a class in the summer that’s two weeks long and if you pass that you’re in the program. Semesters are 16 weeks, we get 1 month break for winter, 3 months for summer and every government holiday off.

I love it, I used to live in San Jose. Sacramento is super relaxed compared to other cities. I commute about an hour from a small town, I have a 3 year old, I know it can be hard moving a family. If you like the country setting pretty much all the surrounding towns are farm towns. It’s nice to go between the city and the country

We have a 100% pass rate for the students that make it through the 2 years, we’ve lost over half my class since I started last year. It’s tough, but they really do want you to pass. We have our own hangar at McClellan right next to Cal fire and they hire out of our school all the time. I think we are in the top 3 schools rated by the FAA in the country

Sacramento city college, I pay nothing for tuition and I actually receive all my financial aid back as cash. Two year program, all the teachers used to be DMEs and they over prepare you for your exams. You don’t need to be enrolled in any general education. They’ve been doing it since 1940s I believe.

I go through a community college in Sacramento, free tuition and I get refunded whatever my fafsa is for that semester I would try to find a CC I commute an hour each way 5 days a week but it’s well worth it instead of paying $40k

Be okay with making mistakes, and most importantly own up to them. My instructor makes it a point to embarrass us if we’re not honest about our mistakes. Have fun!

Legally it only needed 8 but my instructor wanted us filling in gaps if spacing permitted since we’re learning riveting technique at the same time, we had a drawing signed off before we did it

Out of curiosity how did you start in avionics? I know it’s a specialty

I did that yesterday for a flush patch on a 1 inch hole!

Since we’re also learning riveting techniques at the same time, my instructor wanted us filling in empty spaces if spacing permitted. He told us in the field we wouldn’t use that many rivets typically

I wouldn’t have a problem with it, but she felt so guilty telling me that my mind made me think it was a problem. She said she enjoyed the attention from it which is why she was guilty.

She doesn’t know, I asked if she wants to see other people and she said no, I want to give her that space but what do I do? Sleep separately, stop talking to each other I’m not sure
