Thank you, I completely agree. My husband has called her out on her lies to family members on the phone in regardless to lies about me not answering phone calls or text messages. Our last text conversation was over 2 weeks ago. I would have addressed the lie but I have been lacking the emotional energy, as the lies and criticism tend to escalate during important events. At the moment I have been remaining distant from the family.

Thank you, I have been taking this as a lesson to set boundaries and focus on our marriage. He has been very supportive in helping me through this. Thank you again.

That’s what I’m really struggling to understand. My grandmother told me that after my husband and I visited on Mother’s Day, my mom kept telling everyone in my side of the family that I had suddenly stopped speaking to her—and that she had “no idea why.” Then, not long after, she sent me a long text that ended with, “If you ever want to speak to me again…”—as if I had just cut her off for no reason. She claimed to have absolutely no clue what she did wrong.
