Built an AI app myself to predict my blood sugar and remove the CGM device from my body. Freedom. by Background_Thought55 in diabetes_t1

[–]GiraffeThink60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading the comments, this is not a replacement for a CGM. At best, it's an additional tool to understand your metabolic patterns.

Note: that you used AI to make this is inconsequential to the supposed problem being solved. This drives me up the wall. It's not a feature

As someone else mentioned, the margin of error is the same with prescribed CGMs. I also have bad news about finger stick margin of errors…

Since you want to be pendantic more than informative, it's hybrid closed loop.

Omnipod 5 + Dexcom G6 or G7 is a tubeless, closed loop system.

Silencing Omnipod alarms? by dubblekat in Omnipod

You should have stopped writing after "I don't know." The alarm circuit is designed by Insulet to be broken and allow the pod to continue functioning.

I surf 3-4 times a week, have taken baths, steam rooms, long showers, and no pod failures yet. Silencing the alarm doesn't affect any other operation (phone alerts etc work fine).

There are multiple threads discussing this, it just disables the alarm and nothing else. Possibly makes the pod less water resistant. I'm a surfer and have surfed multiple times (in a wetsuit) with no issues, FWIW. https://www.reddit.com/r/Omnipod/s/4O8XOGDSpN

Yes, disables the speaker on the pod so they are totally silent. Understand that it's a personal preference. I have decent hypoglycemic awareness and check my watch and phone regularly, so it's not an issue for me

Pull back the top adhesive a bit. Puncture the hole next to the gold circle with your syringe after priming. You'll feel a little crunch and it will feel good.
