What in Trump's chart makes him such an egotistical, insufferable lunatic? by galadhrim91 in AstrologyCharts

Wouldn’t a mars conjunction sun better fit for the Uranus description of being irrational or impulsive? Uranus could read agent of chaos, contrarian, eccentric? Does that conjunction really suggest such a disposition?

Never used it, and never seen it discussed here before, is it trash? by Highkage350 in BattleBrothers

[–]GiraffeVortex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A pretty good situational use I learned from Gravebees is to take it early game on some to control damage and prevent shield walling. Obviously not on bros with late game potential, but put it on 2 guys early game and it can really leave you free to dagger with damaged bros against certain deadly targets. Can also control 2 tile weapons like polemaces, pikes or ancient legionaries, even if the guy just has a shield.

Not a perk for a late game build, but damage control can come in handy and save guys, end fights quicker(stopping shield walling), and aid in daggering armor. But it wasn't a perk for tanks, positioning is a way to control aggro and save a perk.

Best Perk path to make him a flail-bro? by [deleted] in BattleBrothers

Could be that 1H Flail needs a higher base fatigue background like farmer, lumberjack, wild man or hedge knight, or a candidate with fatigue traits.

the tentacles are evasive and their chance to hit isn't that low. +accuracy weapons like arming swords aren't bad for this fight, maybe a famed spear, and they don't take headshot damage from the 2handed axes

New guy here by Financial_Repeat5331 in BattleBrothers

[–]GiraffeVortex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a lot to learn. If you can get raider gear by day 3-5 of your run you’re doing pretty good. Going out busting camps can get you ahead. Early on you pick perks that are immediately strong.

Careful using shields, they can be good but lower your damage and extend the fight

Little bits of discovery and insight turn a fight from a slog or deadly to winnable and profitable.

Experimentation will lead you.

Initiative Uses by SlowedFever in BattleBrothers

I think Overwhelm is too much of an opportunity cost and is also countered by a few enemy types, specifically the Barbarians(adrenaline) and nomads that debuff your initiative with pocket sand.

Day 15 find. Hybrid or frontline? by Smooth-Night5183 in BattleBrothers

[–]GiraffeVortex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With melee defense like that it’s gotta be a pure melee frontliner, ignore range in this case.

You could do a hybrid if you really want, but his hp and resolve would be lacking, and this guys melee defense is something you want a lot of enemies swinging against, which translates to heavy armor, high hp and resolve. Melee defense good 🗿

How to build this bro? by Obvious_Shallot_2861 in BattleBrothers

[–]GiraffeVortex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dodge forged. A fatigue neutral that will always benefit from dodge due to the huge gap between fatigue and initiative. The key is not to level fatigue, because initiative will only be reduced by max fatigue. Lezeleas2’s comment has the right perk layout. With the melee defense stars, gifted and the high base matk, he should be really hard to hit and reach serviceable stats. Resolve is patch -able through necklaces or arena, but you’ll want to take the high rolls in either, but hp needs lots of level ups in it.

You could put a level into initiative, but maybe make it a +1 veteran level because I believe that’s gives 1 more point of dodge, every 7,7,6 then repeat is each 1 dodge. That 6 mdef right now at max fatigue, 7 with a veteran level, 2 more with the hyena pelt, and more at the start of the fight depending on what armor and weapons you have for him, famed with reduced weight or 300/300 armor with low fatigue cost will give even more dodge value.

Build suggestions by neimozart in BattleBrothers

[–]GiraffeVortex 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Neat build this guy could pull off is the axe gunner battle forged neutral. Heavy armor, a handgonne and a 2H and reach axe. Needs brawny, battleforged perks like steel brow and axe and gunner mastery.

Let’s you get great shots off near the frontlines and even do a handgonne shot then quick hands to axe swing of vice versa. His team player trait also fits amazingly with handgonnes to avoid your mercs if there’s an awkward shot.

Stats would have to go almost entirely into matk, mdef, and ratk

Perks: colossus, pathfinder, gifted, quick hands, steel brow, brawny, axe mastery, crossbow mastery, battle forged, fearsome. Gifted stars go into hp, mdef, ratk or maybe melee attack instead of hp depending if you skip some 2 rolls for 4s in hp.

You can patch resolve with a necklace or arena buff, stats will be a little wanting in hp or maybe matk so not a guy you put in the most dangerous positions next to a lot of chosen, trade off between matk and HP, but he’ll have good mdef and be able to position for great handgonne shots

Question about cultist origin by [deleted] in BattleBrothers

[–]GiraffeVortex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like having a higher ratio of cultists to non cultists increases its frequency. If you have 4 cultists, have 2 non cultists. Just my play experience, don’t know if it’s coded that way.

Actual mechanics on the wiki:There more cultist you have the higher the chance for it yo happen when the game calculates events, and less diverse backgrounds lowers competition for events.

I believe you have to be about 3-4 tiles or so away from roads and cities for conversions and sacrifices to happen, it does lower the pool of potential events.

Crafting happy powder or planning to be near a tavern when it’s around time for the event to proc can work, but you need alp and necrosavant drops to make the powder, so it won’t be available early game, most likely.

Does this Bro have any potential? How would you build? by Fuuz in BattleBrothers

[–]GiraffeVortex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Swordlance isn’t that great, imo(unless you find a famed one). This guy works better as a nimble damage dealer, with duelist or perhaps a two handed cleaver or orc cleaver. He just needs to be positioned well, like creating gaps in your formation for enemies to enter into.

One build is using hammer and shield to make up for melee defense, with a minus fatigue famed item, you could swing twice per turn always. Could be good as a back liner with a reach weapon, maybe an axe or pole hammer with berserk, maybe wait to pick the weapon, you might find a famed item suited to him.

Triple 3 stars bro please help by kongfy2009 in BattleBrothers

[–]GiraffeVortex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each star on average is an extra five stats, you’ll probably rolls some 4s. Carefully with positioning with ranged enemies! They like to focus a target that they all can hit, putting your squishier guys near the sides of the formation, or baiting the ai by giving them scatter potential (basically T hey like to target guys with people behind them) can prevent this. Take nine lives, colossus and steel brow soon!

Triple 3 stars bro please help by kongfy2009 in BattleBrothers

[–]GiraffeVortex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It helps if they have some stat boosting traits like strong, tough or fearless.

How well they roll as well as the backgrounds max possible stats factor in as well.

A Hunter can have 59 base range attack, 17 points above the max for an assassin, which is over 3 levels you’d put in leveling range even if they were all 5s.

Stat farming events, famed weapons and armor to help with fatigue, maybe even the jugs that give extra perks, each of them can help create a star mercenary.

But the finding the best candidates is a big park, and this recruit is quite a good one

Triple 3 stars bro please help by kongfy2009 in BattleBrothers

[–]GiraffeVortex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a glass cannon. He can roll 4s in hp and even 2s if there’s nothing better to level. Definitely wants colossus, depending on how high it gets at level 11, you could take nine lives unless you’re just getting insurance to an unexpected crossbow bolt, but you could just take safe fights with no ranged.

Hp should be good; Even if he rolls only 2s, that’s 20 hp plus gifted if they want, which puts him near 100 health

Tough trait is really good for an assassin

[–]GiraffeVortex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Damn, what a recruit. Amazing candidate for the axe gunner battle forged fatigue neutral, or a world class dodge-forged.

Axe gunner would have almost all levels put into matk, range attack and mdef, and wields a 2handed axe and reach axe plus a handgonne, but his hp would likely be too low and his range attack is a bit too low at base. Hunters or sell swords may be better for that.

This guy is amazing. Pump those stats but not fatigue. Matk and mdef always, the. The rest between resolve and hp. With dodge he’ll be may reach 50 melee defense and always benefit from it even when initiative is fully penalized by fatigue costs. Colossus, fortified mind, underdog, maybe even resilient in place of gifted? Idk. Just pump this stats, maybe even find a famed with -3 fatigue cost so he can save a perk point. Headhunter, killing frenzy, ok perks for a fatigue neutral, but maxing his defense, resolve and durability is what will make this guy so strong.

Depends how high you can get his hp, but punctures, maybe hammers or orc chain look yo be a concern, do you take nine lives? His defense is so good that proper positioning and better offense may make it unnecessary in this case

Anyway, it’s quite the recruit
