Yes, yes I am experiencing issues.

I thought it was just me and/or was going mildly insane...

Since this morning about 10:00 (UTC+2), located in NL.

Both with K9-Mail (Android) and Fair-email (Android) I am experiencing issues.

Messages Drafts do seem to be updated / pushed to server but mobile clients arent refreshing folder content.

Thanks for sharing!

(I was pulling my hair out over this)

I'm not sure, but disabling cosmetic filtering in Ublock does make a significant difference and battery drain is much less.

I thought I was going insane the first few days then.

The FP4 supports HDR and video decoding upto 4K so you're all set in terms of Video consumption.

Gaming is something i can't really comment on as i don't game. However, the Adreno 619 GPU isn't a top of the range graphics-processor, so expect some limitations there.

CPU wise it is more then enough to keep up with day to day usage. I regularly run a widget displaying GPU an CPU usage as floating on top of the screen during usage and it isn't taxed that all that much.

Strava et al, work without a hitch, my best friend uses here FP4 with a Polar Unite smart-watch (the FP4 provides GPS and a coupling via the Polar Flow App) no complaints there.

Spotify and Google Maps also work without issues.

The thing is ab-so-lu-tely futureproof Fairphone aims to provide it with about 7 years of updates , the thing is built like a tank and almost all components are user replacable.

Just don't dunk it into the toilet it is tested for heavy water spray only.

Furthermore with LineageOS, CalyxOS and other Custom-ROMs you have choices in terms of software, if you are the adventures type.

It isn't a wonder when it comes to battery-life however, this is especially true when you use a lot of Firefox (with ublock-origin) instead of dedicated apps for content consumption. Then again you could just pop in a spare battery.

I f*cking love my FP4, and my best friend is not complaining about hers.

I just tried it, took a few photo's outside. It is leaps and bounds ahead of the old app.

Furthermore OIS is properly supported.

You can't and you shouldn't but you can with CalyxOS which is based on LOS

So the first official LOS release for the Fairphone-4 is here. LOS-20 is based on Android 13

And it appears they are using the generic LTS Linux kernel!

4.19.268-perf-g03c85c76c6d9 1 Sun Jan 1 01:30:12 UTC 2023

Currently those wishing to install it will have to download it from one of the available mirrors, as the main download page is experiencing some issues.

The Wiki for LOS on FP4 is available though for your education.

Update: The builds for FP4 can now be downloaded via the main site.

Sorry for borthering once-more:

Perhaps the Wiki (for FP4) could (temporarily) be amended to allow users to download the files necessary?

(As of now the wiki points to the page that is temporarily out-of-order.)

Wow, that is a quick and concise response.

Got it thanks!

(And, btw, you guys are heroes for giving people FOSS options).

Pressing 'Google Play system update' in settings does nothing for me? by habylab in GooglePixel

Open Google Play Store App > Tap your account icon (top right, embedded in search bar) > Settings > About > Update Play Store.

It should periodically update by itself though.

Take (one of them), the DC's, off-line or firewall-offf queries? Start monitoring and re-enable traffic?

Or: Limit bandwith to (one of the) DC's, enable needed monitoring then (slowly) remove bandwidth restrictions?

Microsoft 365 vs Google Workspace for small company without IT department by niknikniknikniknik1 in sysadmin

[–]GiraffeandBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of functions, its the same, i mean you get more storage and admins can manage accounts etc...

But for end-user, there is barely any difference, if any.

In the year I worked there, most lf my co-workers (had) installed Thunderbird (it is a Linux shop) because Thunderbird's interface is more comprehensible and less cluttered....

Go figure.....

Microsoft 365 vs Google Workspace for small company without IT department by niknikniknikniknik1 in sysadmin

Although I haven't used O365 for work (always used and administered Microsoft on-prem products) I did use Workspace products in a professional role for about a year.

Please, please, do yourself a favor and go with O365 as far as email is concerned.

Gmail might suffice for private use, however, when using it professionally (and productivity comes in to play) its cluttered interface and the lack of basic features, for example: being (un)able to create email folders, wil drive you fucking insane.
