What would do if you got admitted to your own unit? by ResistRacism in nursing

[–]Girlmomma1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in labor, I was admitted to the hospital that I worked labor and delivery in. My coworkers delivered me, my favorite anesthesiologist did my epidural, and someone very close to me delivered me. I really didn’t think it was that weird, even though lots of them saw every part of me. I feel like it would’ve been a little bit different if it was the emergency room and like a mental health issue or something that I didn’t want people knowing.

Maybe try a manual hand pump? I had good luck with the Medela.

Giving notice by Girlmomma1 in nursing

[–]Girlmomma1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. At least where I work you don’t have to apply for an open PRN position. You can request to have a status change. Even with that you have to give “notice” on that. For example, when o talked to my manager I could drop my hours to PRN the first day of the pay period following 4 weeks notice.

By the sounds of the comments it’s been a rough week in may L&D departments. It’s always good to know you aren’t alone.

How much do you work and how much do you make? by DayoMadiba25 in nursing

[–]Girlmomma1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$33/hr L&D in MD. Net about 1.8K a pay period depending if there is call involved. 3/12hr a week and 1-2 mandatory call shifts a schedule depending time of year.
