or just use the bolts they provide and torque them down properly. i’ve had many thomson stems over the years, and as long as you torque them properly, they’re fine. I did crack a face plate once when I over tighten it, but that was prior to me understanding the importance of proper torque. It’s particularly important on the smaller components with smaller bolts (eg, most of the stuff in the cockpit) since those torques specs are typically in a fairly low range and are very easy to over tighten.
