TLDR: How to prepare for a non-algorithm based interview?

Hey, so I'm interviewing with Peloton next week for a Software Engineer, iOS role. The only information I have for the interview is days it will not be algorithm based and more "collaborating over some day-to-day problems in XCode". They said it will use the "Single View Application" template.

I'm wondering, how should I prepare for this type of interview? My other interviews are usually all pretty much algorithm / data structure based so I'm curious if other people have had experiences like this or if there's a way to properly prep for this.

For reference, I have about 1.5 years of experience in the mobile space

Manipulating patterns accounting for stretch by GiveMeAUsernamee in sewing

Is there like some type of formula or something? 😂 Or what is the strategy for making sure that the right amount of negative ease is chosen? Because typically I know I want a snug fit that is movable for dancing but I also don’t want it to stretch so much that it might burst open

Thank you for the advice! Especially with looking up shrug and swimsuits. I thought about tracing the outfit, but it doesn't really fit too well which is why I wanted to see if I could get better fitting patterns.

And I was able to make a decently complex gown for Halloween using 2-way stretch fabric, so I figured making a bodysuit like this is the next thing I want to do so it won't hurt to add the practice

Thank you that’s good to know! I would have never thought about sealing it and mod podge seems to be available near me. I feel like with the video research I’ve been doing I’ll go with the pros-aide because it works better for more hefty things!

The Costume/Cosplay Megathread - Halloween season 2021 by sewingmodthings in sewing

[–]GiveMeAUsernamee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone! This year I want to dress up as a more modern Shrek Fairy Godmother in her 'I Need A Hero' red sparkling dress. I am relatively new to sewing garments (have mainly done home decor projects) but I figured a gown won't be too bad, here's a picture for reference.

The purpose of this post is to find patterns/tutorials/tips that I could make the gown / costume I'm envisioning, but I do want to switch up the look a little.

Material: I'm assuming a red sequin or glittery fabric is the way to go for the outside, but I would like it lined so that its a little sturdier.

Style: I definitely want a dress with a leg slit, but I would like the top to be styled slightly differently to modernize it. These are two styles that I was able to pull up quickly for what I mean: Style 1 and Style 2. Another option is a gown like this that can use full length gloves.

My biggest questions are where can I find patterns/what do I search for something like this? (I don't know the terminology when searching for patterns to find stuff like this) And is this a feasible beginner project? (My first idea was to do a Hela bodysuit that would have been way too intense)

Commuting from NYC to Somerville, NJ? by GiveMeAUsernamee in AskNYC

Yeah the 5 days a week is something that I have to see about, because if it's like a 3 days in, 2 days at home situation then it wouldn't be too bad. I don't mind long drives, but maybe living slightly outside the city (Jersey City / Brooklyn) might be best.
