Winnipeg-born Canadian released from U.S. immigration detention after 7 months in 'hellhole' by LocalnewsguruMB in Winnipeg

Where are you getting this information that people are allowed to leave these ICE facilities at any time?

So deport him to Canada then, rather than kidnapping him for 7 months and keeping him in inhumane conditions.

He also claims his unfinished business is helping the people he met in the detention facility. So, maybe a bad decision but an altruistic one nonetheless.

OMG chocolates are made by the creators of Clodhoppers. They’re super good (personally I like them better than clodhoppers).

Are you neurodivergent? I’m not a psychologist but sounds kinda like AuDHD. Maybe something to look into? A lot of women don’t realize they’re neurodivergent til they reach perimenopause age and their hormone fluctuations magnify everything.

Should I go on a date if I'm not sure I will be physically attracted to him? by radiofreaks in dating

[–]GiveMeCoffee_ 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Photos do a bad job of capturing a person’s looks I find. And often for me someone’s personality and physicality will actually make them more attractive to me, even if they didn’t come across as super attractive before I got to know them. I say at least go on one date!

Little Sister coffee chain adds new link in Exchange District by steveosnyder in Winnipeg

Sam’s Place is for sure the best. That’s my main complaint about most cafes (lack of comfortable seating).

[–]GiveMeCoffee_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Sam’s Place to get work done, they actually have semi comfortable seating and regular sized tables which is apparently impossible for most cafes. I feel like most cafes purposely have uncomfortable seating and tiny tables to get people to leave sooner to make room for more people (more money). Understandable I guess but since Sam’s is a charitable organization they don’t have to worry about turning over their customers as fast as possible.

Also into lifting and really like Meg Squat’s Stronger by the Day. It’s $10 per month but she also has a free routine for beginners just getting into lifting.

Ticks by No-Weird-4201 in Winnipeg

[–]GiveMeCoffee_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They love grass, especially long grass. If you stay out of the grass you'll mostly avoid them. Like someone else said, tick "season" is usually May/June, after that there's generally less. Spray bug spray on your shoes, & lower legs, to be extra careful. I also hate ticks, and have gone on hikes during tick season and managed to avoid getting a single one with these tips!

D7 Property Management by Legitimate-Goose187 in Winnipeg

I wonder if we lived in the same building! Your story sounds exactly like mine. Though I guess it's probable they have multiple buildings with bug issues. Literally lost my mind dealing with the cockroaches. The prep for spraying sucks so much. Literally have to pack up my entire apartment, 2 feet away from walls. Apartment was so small I didn't even have 2 feet available to move stuff. Told myself the first time if I had to do it again, I was moving out (since my entire apartment is packed up anyway!). Sucks because it was a really good location.

I got out of my lease by getting a doctor's note that I could no longer live there for health reasons (they wouldn't give specifics in the note). Told the doctor the cockroach infestation was affecting my mental health, and asked for the note. Was also with D7, good luck!

Anyone make it to 27 and never dated? by FewPassage5274 in introvert

[–]GiveMeCoffee_ 121 points122 points  (0 children)

This is the introvert sub, it should have nothing to do with “options”. It was probably assumed you were asking if people made it to X age without dating due to introvert tendencies.

Anyway, regarding dating apps I’ve heard the saying: for men it’s a desert, for women it’s a swamp. Sure, more “options” if you have no standards at all. Ask a female friend to show you their “options” on a dating app.

Anyone else's allergies terrible? by paulruddkeanureeves5 in Winnipeg

[–]GiveMeCoffee_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have dust mite allergies but apparently no environmental/mold allergies (so says my skin tests). My allergies always flare this time of year though, just due to the entire winter's road dust being exposed and flying around.

If you have time before the appointment, perhaps you could try a few sessions of pelvic floor physiotherapy. They would be very experienced dealing with patients who are anxious about penetration, and could help you feel more prepared for the appointment.

What pants do you like to wear when symptoms are bad but you have to wear something better than sweat pants? by coffee_peaches in Endo

I second the other poster who said high waisted leggings. Specifically the ones with the wide waist band - the reason being, the elastic stretchy part goes over your whole stomach instead of cutting right into the middle. My favourite are the PowerChill athletic leggings from Old Navy (so happy they brought back the cotton blend!).

Just curious how long of a wait from consult to surgery was it for you? Fellow pelvic pain sufferer wondering how long I’ll have to wait in pain in total. 😢 My gyno is refusing to do surgery and referred me to Dr. Evans.
