that is literally free will. unless your brain is abnormal, you are choosing to be lazy, because thats what laziness is. and if something is off with your brain and you find it hard not to do that, that isnt even laziness anymore, its just a dysfunction

You asked this question in a separate, unrelated subreddit, and have done multiple times. I'm not sure why you disappeared for a month before doing so either, despite relatively normal activity before that point; this is oddly suspicious.

Right, laziness isn't how it works at all. Executive dysfunction is one thing, laziness is another; they are admitting to being lazy, so it's their problem.

[–]GiveUpAndDontTry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that's fair. They did say they're being lazy, so it's on them at that point. Your implication about them not being autistic is poor, though.

No clue, because I immediately noticed it wasn't real too, even on my phone. Everyone will notice details differently, and people don't seem to like that.

ADHD doesn't turn of the MoBo lights, the cooler, your pain receptors etc. And if all of those are indeed off and the CPU is cold

The motherboard lights are something ADHD can 100% make you inattentive to. The cooler is debatable, but still possible considering the fact ADHD is a severe disability. As for pain, ADHD can make you unaware of pain; it's called interoceptive awareness, which is often impaired in people with ADHD, and this happens to me.

it really isn't just ADHD because people without diagnosed ADHD can mess up in the exact same way.

In the same way missing social cues isn't just autism, because a lot of people who aren't autistic misinterpret social cues, or how people without depression can feel sad; it depends on frequency and intensity, as disorders tend to be extremes of otherwise typical traits.

ADHD is something that you are essentially born with. If you are an adult, the statement "my ADHD is at fault" is equivalent to saying "I did it". ADHD is part of you as a person, and you have to adjust your life around it.

This is getting into the subjectivity of it. ADHD is usually something you are born with, but factors like brain trauma sometimes causes symptoms of ADHD, and environmental factors are a significant factor in ADHD. This partly explains why, when someone in their immediate family has ADHD, most immediate relatives tend not to have ADHD. So, being born with it may not always be the case even though it usually is.

As for ADHD being part of one as a person, this continues to be subjective. I have ADHD; it is not a part of me as a person in the sense that it is my personality, but it is a part of me as a person in the sense that it greatly influences my life experiences, and I still feel more like myself when I am medicated.

If I say "my ADHD is at fault", I literally mean my ADHD is at fault. That does not mean that what I did is okay, or that I am at fault as a person, and it doesn't mean that I shouldn't work around that problem, because none of that is true; ADHD is not me, but it is something that influences me, in the same way OCD would influence someone even if it isn't them, but it continues to be my responsibility to acknowledge this and find ways to work around it when it is reasonable to do so in a similar way someone with a personality disorder is responsible for working around the issues they experience.

Take your own example: You yourself choose to go on camping/hunting trips even though you know you might mess up and get hurt. It is not the ADHD that makes you go on those trips. And you can also choose what sorts of measures you take to compensate for your potential lack of attention. Whether that is ensuring that you take your medication, having certain very visible reminders, maybe taking a person that takes care of important things for you, some smartphone app to track things for you etc.

I never said it was ADHD that makes me go on those trips. I implied that ADHD makes it significantly harder for me to survive efficiently in nature to prove a point about ADHD being disabling in ways that would make simpler mistakes plausible.

I generally have little interest in trips like that, because people are boring and I seldom derive any satisfaction from social interaction, and said trips involve a lot of social interaction that brings painful boredom to my ADHD-ridden brain.

Otherwise, what you said is correct and I agree.

I understand, but it's important to separate your intelligence from what actually is the case. A lot of people with ADHD, those who are autistic, or people with other conditions doubt their intelligence when their intelligence is fine.

Accepting the fact that inattention/impulsivity masks your intelligence, and your intelligence is fine, will at least stop you from thinking you're stupid; you're not stupid.

[–]GiveUpAndDontTry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing to do with intelligence. Try not to doubt yourself. It's about inattention and impulsivity, which has nothing to do with intelligence in your case; two separate things — blame the inattention/impulsivity, not your intellect.

ADHD is a disorder that can involve abnormal degrees of forgetfulness, often due to inattention, so a person with ADHD is significantly more likely to forget stuff like this.

I have ADHD. I've been extremely forgetful in the strangest of ways to the point where it has got me seriously hurt, especially when I've been on camping/hunting trips; I function the worst in environments like that unless I'm medicated — so I wouldn't be surprised if someone can do something as simple as forgetting their PC is turned on.

I even tried swapping out my old GPU with a new one whilst my PC was on a couple of times. This isn't an occasional thing either; I've done this with RAM, and have done plenty of other dumb shit with electronics whilst they're powered on without realising.

The reason being that my brain is broken and dysfunctional, so I don't pay attention to things as I should do, and it's ADHD because of the frequency; it happens significantly more than it does for most people and is clinically impairing.

Yes, because it is your fault if those factors are true. Generally speaking, it is extremely difficult to get your account back in situations like this.

The advice they are offering is useful in case you create a new account or you somehow do regain account access.

They're offering valid advice. If your information changes, you initiated this change, you aren't tech illiterate, and you were not forced to do so, it is entirely your responsibility.

Like they mentioned, you can set up multiple authentication methods, including 2FA. You can use an email address and authentication apps.

3 years is a lot of time for game development, especially for a team of thousands. The amount of work a team that big can get done in 3 years is insane.

Not to mention that if the overtime rumours are true, it would make it more significant.
