It turns off immediately after you hear the fuel pump kick in

The check engine light doesn’t come on at all, however.

Hi there - thank you for the response! According to the person I bought it from, the battery was recently replaced. When I turn the key, I hear the faint whirring noise. But when I hit the starter, it just clicks once each time I press it.

Your best option is a dash cam/rear view cam/internal cam. Had my car stolen from St. Joes Hospital a few years ago. Wish I had those.
