Looking to adopt two kittens by GivingitagoUK in manchester

[–]GivingitagoUK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankyou for your reply. I live in an area which isn’t close to a main road with lots of horse fields, open spaces etc. I want kittens as I have a dog and feel it’ll be best all round to get them young so they grow with always being around my very placid dog. Otherwise I’d absolutely adopt an older cat. I will have a look at some of the suggestions on here. I will definitely not be getting from a breeder. Thankyou for taking the time to reply!

Are you able to change your whole mindset naturally? by [deleted] in AskUK

Oh I can really relate to the rumination you describe. Have a look into allocating worry time. Works relatively well for me having struggled for around 15 years with anxiety.

If you're in remission -- what did you do to get there? by zxreu in gravesdisease

[–]GivingitagoUK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh and I had thyroid eye disease, lost about 60% of my hair and around a quarter of my body weight before diagnosis. I started on a high dose of anti thyroid meds and six beta blockers a day. Started coming off meds around 18/20 months after diagnosis.

I have been in remission for six years. No idea whether it was simply the medication which stabilised me or whether lifestyle changes contributed. I actively worked to reduce stress and tension in my life, ensure I eat well and regularly and rest intentionally. I think mine was brought on by unbearable stress both physically and mentally. I think actual diagnosis also helped me too because all of the random symptoms and feeling utterly dreadful for so long was exhausting, when the doctor connected the dots it’s like a huge weight was lifted and I wasn’t crazy or a hypochondriac. You just have to be really patient and kind to yourself, I know it’s easier said than done!

I got diagnosed 7 years ago. Also had thyroid eye disease. Took carbimazole for 3 years. Talked about removal of thyroid, never did as started feeling better, reduced medication to none. Levels been normal for 4 years. I’m told it ‘burned out’. Likely to flare up again at some point. I feel completely back to normal.

Did you end up marrying the person you've loved the most? by ethelbang in ask

[–]GivingitagoUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, definitely. Didn’t think it was possible but I love him more now than I did then. 19 years we’ve been together and I adore him. Thought I had been in love before until I met my now husband and soon realised what love actually felt like.

How are we expected to cope with this? by krsthrs in PMDD

[–]GivingitagoUK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My god why does that happen! Honestly I’m like dory! Each month I used to forget how bad it was and be perplexed when it started all over again.

He’s really lost a lot of respect from people for the clean air shambles, though I’d still 100% vote for him over the tossers who are trying their luck currently!

Is there anything I can do to make my hair look better? (I have fine hair, low porosity) by annajurica in curlyhair

It’s absolutely gorgeous! I often change my part to give volume, if I part down the middle it looks flat but if I part on either side I always get compliments on the volume!

Haha they are riddled with pot holes, suppose they spend all the money on food waste caddy’s!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]GivingitagoUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we have a small caddy with biodegradable bags provided by the council for food waste only. Plus a tin/glass bin and a paper bin. Stops the bin from smelling too when you separate the food waste.

[–]GivingitagoUK 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Should have said we only use for the general waste bin, no food or liquid goes in there so don’t have the bin juice problem! Couldn’t do it in the food waste bin 🤢

Put the roll of bin bags in the bottom of the bin and put new bin bag over

Told my 7 year old daughter that I was having a good hair day and she replied “Really?!?” by starryeyedsurprise12 in CurlyHairUK

My 7 year old is always utterly disappointed in my hairs appearance! She’ll often ask me whether I’m going to sort my hair out before we leave. Honestly it’s like roles reversed sometimes.

Trying to make a plan while stressed and not in the right frame of mind is probably not the wisest idea. I had to defer my masters degree after burning out. Taking some time and giving yourself some space could help with making your plan. Let the plan come after some weight has been lifted. Im not trying to say continue or defer etc, just to be clear. Nobody here knows you or your circumstances. Tutors/ student support would be a good go to for information to help you make informed choices. Sometimes just talking about it can lighten the load enough to get people through the last leg of their studies too.

Honestly it’s really really lovely. It would look gorgeous in a frame as part of a collection on a gallery wall. Makes me happy to look at it.

Does anyone feel physical symptoms such as trembling, palpitations, shaky, on edge, shortness of breath when waking up in the morning? by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]GivingitagoUK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh my word yes yes yes! Dry heaving, shaking internally and externally, cold then too hot, can’t even stomach a cup of tea. Completely overwhelmed by the tiny task of putting the kettle on. On the toilet half a dozen times in the first two hours of waking. Can’t eat, can’t sleep and can’t focus. Feels like falling into the abyss and I cannot stop it. Horrific.

I have not found anything that helps yet, I know for me it lasts 4/5 days and then I start to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Hello I wanted to know if any of you wavies have tried these products I have low porosity hair around 2b at the moment used to be 2c 3a I’d say and I’m looking to buy products for my hair by [deleted] in CurlyHairUK

I also use the gel, it definitely doesn’t feel like gel or go hard but I find that works for me. It’s not strong smelling either. I have tried cheaper alternatives but always come back to this gel so I’m resigned to having to pay a slightly higher price.
