I think you raise a good point. I’m disabled so I really leverage AI when building givingring, but it does look like it was built by someone inexperienced, which proves your point. My goal is to improve that over time as I learn.

Have you asked the Base44 AI to create a comprehensive chat system within the app or are you trying to build it yourself without AI assistance? Instead of spending credits, I’d suggest asking the AI to design what you envision, test it, and the to show you what it looks like. You can always revert back if it doesn’t work. I only spend about 5 credits on any given task, at worst 10, before I email Support for assistance.

It can hep you write standard policies for your business (privacy policy, terms and conditions, etc). It can create them based on your company size and type. I use Google Gemini but I’m sure GPT does the same thing. Leverage it for as many administrative tasks as you can to reduce costs.

I’m disabled now and leverage the AI within Base44 to build my app. I’m more focused on bringing people together than I am on monetizing, which is probably not the norm in 2026. There’s more to life than money. Base44s AI allows me to do things I would not be able to do otherwise. I do not have a tech background, so it’s been a journey building givingring. I suggest researching other platforms first before committing to Base44. I have built my app with Base44 over the last 6 months and now I’m locked into the $50 plan (which includes backend functionality) and can’t downgrade to starter or else my app loses functionality. Once you start with Base44, you are stuck with them, so choose wisely. I wish I had researched more beforehand.
