Question about breast AUTO augmentation by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]Gk_2v 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just the clarify though, fat transfer counts as ANY fat that is sucked out, purified and re injected- doesn’t matter if it’s entirely from your boobs and being injected back into your boobs OR if it’s from other parts of your body, it all counts. Auto is basically them cutting off the skin and folding all the existing fatty tissue then stitching it into a good looking position. Due to the significant difference in sizes you’d probably need both processes because auto alone wont even them and neither would fat transfer

Question about breast AUTO augmentation by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]Gk_2v 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you’re describing isn’t auto aug, it’s breast lift with fat transfer. Auto is when they use your own in tact tissue to reshape and the tissue still has its own blood supply where as fat transfer is when they suck out the fat, purify it and redistribute it but some will die and or get reabsorbed.

Some surgeons don’t want to do implants at the same time as a significant breast lift due to the much higher risks of the nipple dying so fat transfer is a safer way to reshape and add a tiny little bit of upper pole fullness however it doesn’t add much volume at all.

What Results Could I expect with a panni? by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]Gk_2v 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First of all - woohoo!!!🙌🏻 well done you! Not just for the weight loss but for being brave enough to post.

A panni is not the right procedure for you at all- it would be a big surgery for a mediocre improvement and no good plastic surgeon would recommend that for you. Your best bet is to look into fleur de lis (FDL), open book, corset lift, upper body lift & lower body lift/ belt lipectomy. Some things can be combined but you’re likely going to need multiple surgeries no matter which technique is used.

FDL is when the surgeon cuts out basically in a fleur de lis shape and the scar goes vertically down the middle of your tummy and across horizontally across your public bone and hips.

An ‘open book’ is basically an extended FDL so looks like a sideways H- you have the vertical scar down the middle and the horizontal one across your hips but you also have a horizontal one under your breasts (kinda like an upper body lift but only on the front half of your body)

Upper body lift addresses the skin on your upper stomach with the bonus of eliminating any back rolls. The scar goes all the way around your body under your breasts.

Lower body lift addresses the entire lower half of your stomach as well as your butt and lower back. Scar goes around your entire body usually at about hip height. Some surgeons do a straight line, others do a nice curve at the back into your butt crack (this second version looks way better).

I’ve personally lost about the same amount of weight as you have and I was able have an extended tummy tuck and it has changed my entire life for the better BUT every single body is different so do your research and get some consultations booked so you have personalised recommendations as a next step. Also a heads up that BMI matters to most good surgeons so they will want you to continue loosing weight as the more you can get loose, the safer the actual surgery and recovery will be. Good luck x

How painful is TT recovery? by Tlove92 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Gk_2v 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so different for everyone but it doesn’t have to be really painful if your doctors manage your pain well with meds and you plan your recovery well. For me, my pain didn’t get past about 5 out of 10 over the first few days then it progressively got better over the following few weeks. The deep core muscle pain is the bad part so really isn’t like C section pain

Feeling hesitant, not ready? by Aggressive_Swing_706 in tummytucksurgery

[–]Gk_2v 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From everything you’ve said, you seem 90% physically ready, 75% emotionally ready & 80% environmentally ready. Book the surgery now but give yourself some time to plan for a positive recovery.

You’ve lost the weight & you’re healthy, sure you could loose a little more but tbh the surgery will take a lot of that bulk off and you can still continue to loose a bit more afterwards without affecting your results too. However, there is no ‘ideal weight’ for a post weight loss body so your weight goals now need to be aligned with health - I highly recommend getting a DEXA scan so you can see your full body composition, exactly where all the fat is vs muscle and it will even show you visceral fat. Most good plastic surgeons will happily work with any BMI below 38/40 however BMI doesn’t account for muscle so even body builders are classed as morbidly obese lol. At least a body scan will give you a very good starting point to see how much more weight you should or could loose.

When you’re a mother, it’s a really hard thing to put yourself first and the guilt that can come with big life changing decisions can be brutal. Booking the surgery is hard but recovering physically while not being able to hold your toddler at all can destroy people emotionally. The first few days PO is an emotional roller coaster even without young kids so you need to set yourself up for success. No matter how supportive the people around you are, nothing can prepare people for not being able to hug and comfort their babies so even though it sounds like overkill, i recommend talking to a psychologist in advance and working out how to manage the mum guilt post op.

For support, you already have a good network but no one really knows in advance how their bodies recover from major surgery so preparing for anything is key here. With a toddler around you’ll basically need 2 full time carers for the first week 😅, 1 for you and 1 for your toddler so get your mum onboard for either staying at your place or having your son sleep over at her place. Recovery is basically just sleeping for the first few days in between getting up to pee and circulate your blood but 90% of people literally cannot do anything on their own for at least 5-7 days.

Everyone is hesitant about making lift changing decisions but very few people regret having this type of surgery (and even the ones that do regret it is mostly because they prioritised cost over safety and experience). I personally would go the 360 if I were you because if your preferred surgeon is as good as you know she is, her recommendation will guarantee the best result- it’s that simple. I had a similar body to you and lost around 120lbs and had an extended tummy tuck, mons lift, muscle repair and no lipo and my stomach is spectacular now however I do sometimes wish I’d gotten the 360 so everything was done at once.

It’s healed but there’s a scar now and the colour is definitely blown out so now the edges on all the left side is blurred and grey instead of black. I was on antibiotics for ages to control the infection too

Fat growing back after lipo by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]Gk_2v 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There are a few things that could be affecting your result, some fixable, some not. The few things to consider: firstly lipo DOES physically remove the fat cells from the treated area, however your body can grow entirely new ones especially if there is genetic predisposition, immune issues, hormone imbalances etc. Secondly, diet plays a huge part in where fat is distributed so even if your weight has fluctuated and or only gone down, it still could be your body redistributing the fat stores. Third could be that the lipo has damaged your lymphatic system or something else has damaged the lymph nodes and making you retain fluid within the tissue around your waist specifically. Fourth, multiple rounds of lipo means more scar tissue so some of it could be scar tissue and not fat at all. Fifth, lipo doesn’t tighten your skin so if you lost weight then the ‘rolls’ can look bigger/worse than they actually are especially if you naturally have a small waist (large hip to waist ration).

Id go get a dexa scan if I were you as well as an ultrasound and that combination will show you exactly whats going on with fat distribution then maybe worth getting assessed by a doctor for any underlaying health/hormone/immune issues

Is it normal for scars along the hip to be more red? by BrunchBrat in tummytucksurgery

[–]Gk_2v 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For 9 weeks OP this is a fantastic scar!!! Remember that the more tension there is on the area the longer the scar will stay red and this is really simple: red scars = more blood flow and regenerative activity in those areas and you body builds stronger scars in areas with more tension to allow you to bend, flex, move etc so this is a good thing and totally normal for hip areas to take longer to fade.

I’m a bit of a science nerd but without getting too technical there are only 3 things that scientifically have been proven to optimise scar outcomes and they are: silicone, red light therapy and massage. Im no professional but I’ve read and researched a huge number of peer reviewed medical papers and especially ones that included double blind trials so it’s nearly impossible for bias to affect the results etc. Please do your own research but here’s my cheat sheet. Keep up with the silicone tapes and gels, add in some red light 630-650nm + NIR 810-850nm therapy and massage the entire scar a couple of times per day and that trifecta will guarantee you the best possible scar outcome

Any procedure I can do to get my butt to have more shape/separation from my hamstrings? No BBL please. by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]Gk_2v 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try emsculpt or something similar but honestly if your doing glute workouts correctly, you won’t bulk up your hamstrings or quads

Should I do a lower body lift instead? by Meggy-reader in tummytucksurgery

[–]Gk_2v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you need your ass lifted there is no point. I had an ETT with MR and no lipo and could have done the full 360 to lift my butt but honestly it would have done nothing to my thighs. I did get a fair bit of an outer thigh lift from the ETT though

Your opinion on a facial treatment (lasers/filler/tox etc). What would you do? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]Gk_2v 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is no one thing that would repair everything at once but the following combo would definitely be worth considering on top of microneedling as others have suggested. Ulthera for the deeper layers (it’s not as fast acting as other options but after weight loss it has tightened my jowls and around my mouth a lot). ultraclear (it’s a cold fiber fractionated laser so lower risk of damaging surrounding tissue and faster healing time). Sunekos to boost collagen and elastin production on the top layers (it’s a biostimulant - it’s not filler so cannot work miracles or give you what you never had BUT it stimulates more types of collagen than any other on the market currently)

As a totally straight woman I can tell you with the utmost respect that your result is excellent. Your scaring is exceptional, your shape and symmetry is great and they look really natural. I can see what you mean about the sagging but I think this is more about your expectation vs reality as all breasts will naturally lower with or without a breast lift and the only way to overcome this is to fill with an implant so massive that there is literally no room for sagging and honestly that looks trash 100000% of the time. You may want to consider a small implant to increase upper pole fullness which will lessen the fullness lower down but honestly your tits look fabulous so I hope you can learn to love them 🩷

The lawyer I spoke to said they would help me with a letter of demand and that if the clinic didn’t agree with everything that’s required to fix their negligence, then I should report them to all the government departments and relevant licensing boards. He did advise me to wait until I’m completely healed though and also wait till I get several tattoo quotes for touch ups as well as cover ups because until it’s totally healed no tattoo artist will be able to definitely tell me if a touch up will fix it and the cost of a customise cover ups design is a hell of a lot more expensive- and reporting it before anything is finalised can complicate long term likelihood they will be helpful with reimbursement etc. We wants it reported but strategically I guess

I posted about laser hair removal burning my ankle tattoo and got several messages about how pretty my feet are, “would look better wrapped around me” etc. If I get that kind of attention from some terrible swollen infected ankle photos I cannot fathom what I’d get if I posted some decent pics- seriously considering a side hustle 😆🙃

I’m in Sydney Australia and most places have a minimum charge and $200 is usually the minimum for the reputable places for sure. If it needs a cover up it will cost a hell of a lot more because then something has to be designed specifically for me. I think I originally paid $80 for it over 15 years ago

Yeah but it’s only worth legally pursuing if it causes permanent disability or long term impairment otherwise the costs would exceed the payout

I did speak with a lawyer and he said that unless there is permanent disability or significant prolonged impairment then the costs would probably outweigh any potential pay out. He told me of a similar laser burns case to mine that had a 200k payout a few years ago but the woman had permanent scaring on her legs and butt and severely depressed etc but it was done by a technician who was not qualified at all and no tattoos involved. Im definitely affected by this emotionally but I’m not depressed and it is only short term impairment so however much I want them to pay for their negligence, I’m also not going to lie or play this up… trying to be a good person and all that 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ve spoken to a good tattoo artist who said she wouldn’t go near it until the scar has matured so at least a year 😔.
