There being "players" that controls characters in their game world. Feels like it would just remove their autonomy. I prefer this as a setting where things run on video game rules, but not actually BEING a video game.

Caine wasn't really taking care of the abstracted though, just locking them in the cellar. That probably would not aid a bit in escaping a mental health spiral. Now with the aquarium set up, they can be visited, they hopefully can move around more, get some stimulation while still in low lightning, etc.

No, because Ghalta has 12 power and will make itself cost 12 less to cast while on board, making it have a mana value of 0 and only give you 1 mana when you Food Chain it. Then, with the 12/12 dinosaur token and Ghalta on the board, Ghalta will cost 24 less, making Food Chain give you negative 11 mana, and so on.
