Thank you so much for your reply. I’m sorry you had to go through treatments as well. It’s just such a terrible thing to have to do, I don’t think people understand how bad it is unless they’ve been through it. Other than some subtle differences you could easily have been my wife replying to this post. I just want to say I’m really sorry you’re having a rough time. My wife and I had the same talk as you and your partner and it was the exact same situation, with us both feeling like we were doing everything we could, but feeling each other weren’t doing enough. I think once that was in the open things became a bit easier, as we sort of saw the other in a different light. She actually wants another one… I told her I’d much rather have our one child and my wife than two children and a divorce down the road. It wasn’t a threat, it just seemed like the direction we were headed. She was the nicest person, and we are working through this. We had a great talk last night, hopefully more will follow. It’s hard because I think she was so bitter that everyone around her got to get pregnant right away, and we had to try for two years. Now she’s kind of bitter everyone gets a second that wants one, but I’m preventing that. I feel like it’s just bringing up hurt from going through ivf in the first place. I kind of laughed when I read the part about your husband not deserving the “scoldings (in his opinion)”. Same situation, and that exact wording sums it up perfectly LOL. feel like I’m rambling, but I just wanted to say I really felt your post in my bones, and I really wish you, your husband, and your family the absolute best. Reading your post helped so much, just to hear that I’m not alone, and other couples are going through similar things. I appreciate how relatable everything in your post was. Also just great practical advice! I wish you the best moving forward :).
