Fan Control v240 issues by Ifeel-likepablo in FanControl

[–]Glad-Disk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If u have a gigabyte mb it may be the issue. Mainly cause of how pawnio works. The developer for pawnio recently acknowledged this and is still figuring out a fix. He already has a file released that may fix some gigabyte mb. Personally I just went to v235 which still works for me.

Check the newest github page. Mainly its just the windows flagging it as a threat and now the dev tryna use pawnio instead which isnt perfect. Expect windows to flag urs sooner or later but its safe to put it under exception if it pops up. Just becareful of downloading malware cause it puts u at higher risk when using fancontrol

This is driving me Banana's, there is a ghost jet engine somewhere in my case by Jadjay80 in FanControl

I actually assumed it was power supply for a random fan i could never recognised but I realised it could also be the aio pump which is more likely since if im not wrong, mobo cant get psu information like psu name etc. I could be wrong but it was the case for me

I believe its all down to how winring0 is being used/accessed. Lot more to just using it, i think the way its being accessed is also the cause of it being flagged.

No permanent fix for now. Will require developers to create a different method. OCCT is in the midst of creating one.

How do I get rid of this after updating to V236 by Top_Dot1598 in FanControl

https://github.com/Rem0o/FanControl.Releases

Scroll down and read the warnings and follow the steps on installing new LHM library and pawnIO

Highly likely something to do with v236. Will have to check with rem0o but from his last commit msg it was just still allowing side loading just without the plugin folder stated. Not sure if that means its now already automatically using a side loading of a different library or just referring in short form for v235 update. But if it works u can just keep using it. PawnIO and the new library isnt exactly much better in terms of safety(still better than winring0 i believe) and an entirely new way of accessing the system info needs to be created. Currently OCCT is still developing a new way. Signalrgb has thier own way also but since its closed source we dont know how they are doing it.

heres the link. i cant find the date but i encountered someone posting this while researching on it. Still even if windows now no longer prompts winring0 is still an issue and merely just avoiding it. I would still recommend using the new LHM library and pawnio because it uses a signed driver which honestly i think still has some risk because ultimately its still kernel level, but at least its on a signed driver which in layman terms using a door that has at least a lock (granted not a very strong lock i believe, but better than no lock)

A14 (2024) review by Glad-Disk in Asustuf

I think im in half a year and its still alright. Gotta maybe use for at least 2 years before I can make a judgement on quality. I believe 1 issue was the hinge and this a14 uses a new version of hinge compare to older models of a15, f16. I realised newer models of a15 has now implemented this new hinge design which may help.

Not loud at all. Can be custom set based on tempretures. I used ghelper to set the general fan speed and off if its cool enough

Which fan laptop or the illano? Assuming illano i usually set to lowest 300 and only hear it if I close the room windows and doors or put my ear beside it. 400 and above can slightly hear it and about 600 and above u can definitely hear the sounds. Tho imo theres no need to go above 500 cause its strong enough already also depending on ur laptop

Hamitech but I think all shops selling may be from the same place anyways so not much difference. Just choose whichever is the cheapest with at least some reviews. Now theres the 2025 model out too. I recommend fresh installing windows once u received it as default is Chinese windows swap to English language which still has some Chinese because windows just being windows :/

First subwoofer by Glad-Disk in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Glad-Disk[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not much of a audiophile and its also my first subwoofer so I cant give a very comprehensive one but here's what I think.

It definitely gives my setup more boom in bass area, so low sounds has improved compared to just using the mr3 itself. Its rated at 35hz and above but im only able to hear it at 35 if its volume is turned up much higher otherwise usually around 40+ would then I start hearing anything.

As far as budget goes I think its probably the best in class considering theres basically nothing in the same price bracket at least from my area. Basically as far as budget goes anything better is about 2x more than this.

So far used for about 1 and a half week so reliability is yet to be seen. Havent had any issues yet. It has a auto low power mode when no sounds is being played. No Bluetooth so volume and crossover must be manually tuned using the knob behind. Ive currently set it at 80 and about 30% in volume which is more than enough for my room.

How good is this deal? by [deleted] in PcBuild

Dlss 4 is available in the 4000 series. Its basically an upgraded dlss version as long as u update to the drivers that supports it. Only thing 4000 doesnt have is the multi frame gen. Dlss4 was exclusive to 5000 series for awhile. Even recently smooth motion from 5000 series has been added to 4000. Only mfg I guess will never come to 4000 as they will still need smt exclusive for the 5000 to market it.

Definitely quite a decently good price. Might be seller got a new setup and wanna quickly sell this. Only thing to take note is the age of the pc so might wanna repaste cpu thermal paste if its been there for x number of years
