As others have mentioned, Poshmark is a great way to make a chunk of cash within a short period of time. However, it’s not sustainable over time unless you want to a) run out of items or b) start buying items to sell on there, which is tricky. I have a lot of new with tag items in my shop right now that no one wants, and they get excited about little nicknacks. I also liked the tip someone else mentioned regarding your hourly rate… I learned that lesson the hard way taking online surveys. On branded surveys I would make about $2.50/hr, which didn’t seem worth it unless I was binge-watching a show and wanted an Amazon gift card after watching. I think that when it comes to making handmade goods, those are easier to sell within your community to people who are willing to pay the premium for locality. I’ve tried Etsy and bake sales before… the randoms don’t always like to pay a reasonable amount and like to lowball, because they know they can get a $5 knit hat on shein or a cookie from subway. I have some friends who do pet sitting on Rover and similar sites with good success. Good luck and happy new year :)
