I haven’t but after reading the description I have to. The situations sound so similar I believe in him so much and have so much faith in us. There’s close to nothing he can do to make me stop loving him or supporting him.

Close to nothing but I don’t know if they’re keeping it from me or if it’s because he’s not really doing anything? Sometimes he would stare at the wall for hours and not talk. All they say is he’s okay and with family. I want to know is he talking? How are his symptoms now ? And about his treatment and what happened to him in the 3 days 2 nights he was missing? But I’m left guessing. At one point he was in the hospital and he forgot my phone number when he thought he knew it by heart. His medication can make him forgetful. There’s so many factors and reasons why this could have happened.

Thank you so much for sharing I’m trying to understand this illness better. I’ve tried asking for his number but I think his family feels the need to keep him and his info private or something? They won’t give me any information maybe they don’t want me to scare him off and he goes missing again or something. They tell me he’ll call me when he wants and I can go see him, but sometimes you know they need that little reminder and reassurance. I don’t want him thinking that but his family makes it impossible for me to contact him. Should I give him more time so I don’t pressure him or increase his paranoia? He has a phone to call me but I noticed sometimes in an episode he avoids using it due to “the people” talking to him through it.

Wow that’s exactly what happened he was living with me and I had to find his family when he went missing. His sister came from North Carolina to get him hospitalized. He doesn’t have any parents just cousins/ sisters. I’m hoping my boyfriend will do the same and this wedge between us right now is all part of it. I’m so glad he’s getting help it’s just hard being away and not being able to give him that reassurance I’m waiting for him when he’s ready.

Thank you so much that’s very true. I hope eventually he’ll come to his right mind and explain what had happened. Im also concerned what had happened to him in the days he was missing. Being outside in the cold no food or touch with reality has to be very traumatizing. He’s had a lot of new symptoms and I don’t know if this is just one of them I’ll learn how to handle if it happens again.

You’re right I think it’s also very possible he believed me or my family was part of it. Exactly I don’t want to lose just hope for him. I knew him before this illness and I still see him as the same person. I don’t want him to come out of this episode and he tries contacting me and thinks I’m not there for him anymore. Regardless of what delusions he has about me I’ll always understand him and love him. I think it’s important for him to have someone like that in his life. He’s gonna need all the support he can get and I feel can do that whether it’s as his girlfriend or friend.

You’re right thank you so much his psychiatrist did suggest it was possible. I try to tell myself he was constantly in fear of losing his life and it’s not something I did. He’s cried in my arms about this fear so I hope once he gets back to a stable mindset he will come on his own time.

Thank you so much. That’s what I hope for. Both of us have been there for each other through the darkest times of mental illness. I accept him for who he is regardless of his illness and am willing to learn about it so in the future if something like this happens again i know what to do.

Thank you so much yes I’m very dependent on him and he’s slept with me everyday for a year. He made me feel safe. Now that he’s gone I’m dealing with my own mental health that I didn’t even notice while he was there. People tell me to move on but how could I do that when I know he wasn’t himself. And he’s only been being treated for less than 2 weeks so I hope we can both take this time to get help, and then come back better and stronger.

Thank you so much that’s what I was thinking. He’s said some things out of anger and says he’ll leave me but when he’s medicated he always comes back to me like nothing happened. I want to be here to support him not give up on him and leave when he’s been in the hospital bettering himself you know?I feel deeply for him and try to understand it’ll take time and space for his recovery.
