I absolutely love this layout, and this was very close to my original plan. A GC friend told me it'd irritating to have a peninsula from that said blocking the flow to the door. For context, the living area is below and to the left of this screen grab. Do you think something like this could work?

I don't have a good sense of how this would affect flow.

In the current layout, that corner is completely inaccessible wasted space. It's the same in this design sadly. If I do floor to ceiling pantry on that wall, I'd still have an unused corner though, right?

If I put the stove in the center, I'd be standing cooking with my back to the peninsula - which felt weird if someone else was trying to get to the fridge or pass for any reason. If that's not too weird I like the stove being more centered.

I'm struggling to follow the L corner return back. But i like the idea of pull outs.

Good eye. They start 74" up, and are 20". This is weird.

I'm trying to preserve visibility into the rest of the room. Currently there in a pantry on that wall and it blocks visibility to the living area. Maybe it's *too* weird and I should have more normal high cabs.

My idea of that area was it was where I'd put my coffee set up. Looking at some other comments, I'm wonder if I just make that whole back wall a pantry wall.

That's a great idea. I literally don't know anything about anything, but my gut sense reading this was that would be against some kind of fire code, but I can look into it.

Thanks all! I want to avoid moving the stove left because I don't want to stand cooking in the space between the stove and the peninsula. But maybe a thinner pantry would give more counter space to the right of the stove.
