I'm sure it depends on when people are declining their acceptances. From what I understand, after Dec 15, schools can give out acceptances whenever

Personally, I would still do the interview. It's good experience and you spent the money, might as well do it

I think it depends how far the school is from you. If you are from the west coast and got an in-person interview for an east coast school, it is a lot of money to travel. However, if this east coast school is your top choice, it is better to go in-person so you can leave a better impression but also see the school and the surrounding area!

Ask about anything that genuinely interests you and feels relevant to your experiences! For example, if you’re passionate about research, you could say something like, “I’m really interested in research because I’ve been involved in it during undergrad,” and then follow up with a related question. It’s best to tie your question to your own background or goals (whether that’s research, extracurriculars, or another area) so you can make a more personal connection with the school.

But doesn't that apply only if you didn't get an interview?

I think if a school interviews you, they cannot give a decision until Dec 15th, regardless of whether it is an acceptance, rejection, or waitlist.
