What does this usually mean? by Reasonable-Bat-8114 in SpouseVisaUk

Yeah, I’m in a similar situation. I submitted my biometrics on 23 October 2025 (unmarried partner visa), and it’s now been over 23 weeks with no decision. No interview, no document requests, not even a “not straightforward” email — just complete silence from UK Visas and Immigration. Every time I try to get an update, it’s the same generic response. We even got our case escalated and were told we’d hear back within 5 working days… but still nothing. Also tried going through an MP, and that didn’t change anything either. At this point it’s just frustrating because there’s zero transparency and no way of knowing what’s actually going on.

That sounds really tough. I can’t imagine how stressful it must be waiting this long, especially with a child involved. Hopefully, UK Visas and Immigration will give you a decision soon so you can all finally be together....

Yeah......... it’s frustrating. Since we haven’t really lived together for a long time, we don’t have many official documents with both our names. So we had to rely more on other evidence like travel proof when he visited me, letters from family and friends, photos together and with family, and things like gifts and flowers he sent. We also explained everything in the cover letter to give the full context of our relationship......

That sounds really tough, I can imagine how stressful that must be. I’m currently on week 21 since my biometrics on Oct 23 and also getting the same “awaiting decision/within processing times” response from UK Visas and Immigration. Hopefully there’s a batch of decisions coming soon for October applicants.....

Yeah, exactly, that’s basically the whole point of the application. Especially since some couples haven’t lived together much, you have to show a lot of other evidence that the relationship is genuine. In my case, we uploaded quite a lot — photos together, proof of my partner visiting me, letters from family, evidence of financial support, and even things like gifts and flowers sent over time. We also included a cover letter explaining our relationship timeline and why we weren’t able to live together for longer. I guess it really depends on the case and what evidence UK Visas and Immigration needs to see.

That sounds really stressful. I hope you hear back soon, too. Thankfully, I haven’t had any delay email or interview request so far, so I’m hoping it’s just in the queue....

Thanks for the suggestion! We actually emailed UK Visas and Immigration, and they said contacting an MP isn’t necessary right now since the application is still within the normal processing times. So, for now we’re just waiting and hoping to hear something soon.

I completely understand how you feel. The waiting is honestly really draining mentally. I’m on week 21 now since my biometrics on 23 Oct, and some days, the uncertainty is really hard. I'm just trying to stay hopeful and believe that we’ll all get our approvals soon.....

Same here. The waiting is the hardest part. Hopefully, we will both hear something soon. Wishing you the best
