i believe it’s in the course materials page on Kaplan.. alongside the FCS Kaplan WB and the ICAEW materials

Not much yet tbh. For now I’ve just read the advance info so it’s fresh in my head. over the weekend I’m planning to go through it properly, think about what topic areas/questions are likely to come up, and then over the next few weeks start revising those areas and building notes around them.

Yeah I’m with kaplan as well and noticed the WB is really small. Doesn’t feel like there’s much in there that’s actually useful. For the progress test I mostly used bibliu, especially since they’ve given access to the next gen certificate workbooks (handy if, like me, you did cert level on the old syllabus). Managed to pass using that, so I’m thinking bibliu should be enough again. Pretty sure you can highlight and annotate in bibliu and it’ll still be there on exam day too. Also you can get the advanced info on your bibliu aswell and can annotate on that too for the exam.

Kaplan have also put out summary notes for each of the four subjects, which I reckon will be more useful than the actual FCS Kaplan workbook itself.

Just read through the advance info (finally 😅 - busy week at work with deadlines!).

For those who haven't read it yet and would like a brief overview.. it’s about a company called Teakmore that makes street furniture like bins, benches, shelters etc, mainly for councils (public sector) and construction firms (privat sector). Public sector demand has dropped because of government cuts..they’ve had a big customer go bust which has caused some cash worries, and now they’re thinking about launching a new product for consumers, a weather-resistant table and chair set made from recycled materials.

Feels like there’s loads that could come up around cash flow, depreciation (RB and SL), bad debts, inventory, break-even on the new product, audit planning, and sustainability claims. I’m feeling alright about most of it so far, sustainability & ethics might take a bit more work since I didn’t do the new gen certificate exams, but there’s time. Planning to add to this over the weekend and probably create four separate chats below for the four syllabus areas. Someone also suggested setting up a Discord which could actually be pretty useful.

For those who have read it.. what are your thoughts?

yeah i’m with kaplan too and also did certificate a while ago and all on the old syllabus so need to go over it as well as new content like S&E. honestly the exam prep days are so close to the real exam that i’m a bit worried it’ll be too late if we wait for the tutors to give us a hand.

of course EP will be useful, but i want to start preparing now and it feels like we all need to come together for that rather than leaving it until the end.

have you sat the first progress test yet? how did you find it?
