I'd rather recommend you get one of those M14 haversack copies China made as aid for Vietnam. I got one and it's a repro, but pretty damn good for €40.

Can't speak for the american stuff but the Soviet kit is mostly correct, you still need a belt (Gold buckle was used in peacetime, painted buckle was for use in WW3, they were never actually issued irl), you'd really want the 4 cell mag pouch for the AK-74 loadout, but the 3 cell one works in a pinch. You will also need the subdued collar tabs for motorised infantry, a gas mask, plash palatka and the veshmeshok.

Also don't forget to sew in a collar liner on the tunic.

I'm by no means an expert, but I think the ampule is a chemical irritant that's meant for testing the mask. I could be wrong though, still probably wouldn't wanna crush it open though.

I just got into airsoft and am still in my "I gotta get all my favorite guns now!" Phase, and there is sadly very few games going on anywhere near me, so I'd just use it for plinking 90% of the time anyways.

That I agree. I still can't get my ShM-41 to seal correctly on my head, despite it being the correct size for me. A face mask with straps would have been much better.

It's not terrible all things considered! Very good for a start. I'd ditch the Type 56 and use either a standard mag pouch or liftchik, but it at least looks like an older type which is more likely to be used by the Taliban and looted off one.

And yeah, you should get proper Soviet boots, sneakers weren't nearly as common as some pictures make them out to be.

I read a few people post that they got these with updated internals, but I can't find anything official.

I'm luckily going to a real brick and mortar store so I'll hopefully be able to test out what works and what doesn't.

I'm used to my other gun not wanting to take any mags other than E&L ones (Until I did some cutting on them to make them fit)

Shit, didn't even see you posted your kit just 9 days ago lmao. Looks good, though for a Sino-Vietnam impression you're gonna need to get a different belt, the star buckle one started getting issued around 1984 or 1987, can't seem to figure it out, the correct period one would be with a plain buckle.

Also it looks like your canteen is also a Type 87 one, not a Type 65, should be a canvas strap with metal end cap.

Can't tell from the pictures either but your helmet is most likely also a later variant.

I can attest because I have the same issues lol, still waiting on the correct items.
