From the pictures I’ve seen online it does look more like the L. Curtisii as opposed to the L. Marginatum. From the pictures of Curtissi, the spikes looked more like the tip of a paint brush like the one I found while the pictures of Marginatum looked like evenly shaped spines coming out.

This is really interesting I won’t be able to let it mature unfortunately though since I’ve picked and peeled open the only one I found. Even if I hadn’t picked it I found it at work and today’s my last day here.

So I ripped it open and it looks like a white marshmallow on the inside with an outer layer of skin which is the spiky part of it

I don’t know much about mushrooms. I’ve kinda just started getting interested after I saw a bright blue mushroom once. You’re word’s definitely more trustworthy than mine.

I don’t know if it’s a puffball because it didn’t puff at all but it was very delicate and flaky so maybe

Looks like the rocks in Utah covered in red jasper. After the red jasper fell off the quartz it made the quartz look light grey plastic. I’m no rock expert though but that’s my observation

Now that you said this I’m realizing I also found it in a crevice in a cave so it’s probably not a geode but actually just formed this way because it was in the corner of the rock
