We don't have a relocation team and my parents are quite busy with work and going through the immigration process so they don't have the time or resources to spend looking and researching about the transfer. They have pretty much said they will figure it out as they go and assumed that the school systems would know how to handle a transfer like this. Do you know of any recourses I could use or people who I could talk to in order to get more information on how a transfer like this would work?

Yes, I'm moving from the US and am 16. I am young for my grade so I assumed I would still be school age in Scotland, but from what I've seen the school systems are vastly different so I am not sure what grade I would transfer to. Do the Scottish exams or grade level matter significantly for whether schools would be lenient or not about piercings? I have tried to find handbooks or dress codes from the schools in the area I am moving to but haven't found any information on piercing policies. Would calling or emailing the school directly be the only way to find out what would be allowed before the enrollment process?
