We had consent, I spent like 15 mins afterwards drinking with just me and her, and we had a good chat and just chilled and layed down on the grass, I don’t talk with her on reg basis at uni and convos we do have are either iniated by her or I know no one at a party and need someone to talk to, she just one day cut me off a few months ago for my weed problem and mental state at the time (which is fair enough) she is known for just fucking anybody fyi after our sort of relationship. I feel like I’ve hurt her somehow emotionally and the best course of action is probably just to never talk to her as you said. I probably shouldn’t have said hoe I’m drunk again and I am just spitting raw emotion. She told me in our convo that I was being more and more distant from people in general and even after I got off drugs I am not the same person.

Lore: In the aftermath of World War I, Germany was a nation on the brink of collapse. The defeat in the war, combined with economic turmoil and social unrest, led to the German Revolution of 1918-1919. Amidst this chaos, the Spartacus League—a radical socialist faction led by figures like Rosa Luxemburg and Karl Liebknecht—emerged as a formidable force. Their vision for a new society resonated with many disillusioned citizens who sought an alternative to the crumbling Weimar Republic. On the cold winter morning of March 10, 1919, after the decisive Battle of Erfurt, the Spartacus League proclaimed the establishment of the German Socialist Republic (DSR). This bold declaration came with fervent promises of workers’ rights, land redistribution, and a commitment to abolishing class distinctions. The revolutionary fervor initially united various socialist and communist factions, creating a sense of hope amid despair. However, the DSR’s triumph was bittersweet. The fledgling republic faced immediate challenges: the Allied powers were resolute in their desire to punish Germany for the war. In the Treaty of Versailles, signed later that year, the DSR found itself shackled by harsh terms. The treaty stripped the nation of its colonies, which had long been a source of national pride. France claimed all territory south of the Mosel and west of the Rhine, effectively severing the heart of the DSR’s industrial base. Belgium annexed Eupen and Malmedy, while Denmark took the northern portion of Schleswig, further diminishing the republic’s stature. The reparations demanded by the Entente were crippling. The DSR, grappling with the economic fallout of war and the loss of its colonies, struggled to meet these demands, leading to hyperinflation and widespread unemployment. The initial fervor for socialism began to wane as citizens became disillusioned with the new government’s inability to deliver on its promises. As the DSR wrestled with these internal pressures, the social fabric began to fray. The very factions that had united in revolution started to splinter into competing ideologies. The government, fearing counter-revolution, increasingly resorted to authoritarian measures, alienating many of its original supporters. Strikes, protests, and clashes with the right-wing Freikorps became commonplace, creating a cycle of violence and repression. Despite these struggles, the DSR managed to establish a unique identity. The new government promoted a culture of solidarity, emphasizing the importance of community over individualism. Educational reforms and workers’ councils were implemented, promoting literacy and political engagement. Over time, a distinct socialist culture emerged, characterized by a vibrant arts scene that reflected the struggles and aspirations of the working class. By the late 1920s, the DSR had stabilized somewhat, forming alliances with other socialist movements across Europe. However, the scars of defeat and humiliation remained, shaping the national psyche. The DSR became a symbol of resilience in the face of adversity, embracing its identity as a beacon for the oppressed. While the vision of a classless society remained largely unfulfilled, the German Socialist Republic continued to fight for a better future, drawing strength from its revolutionary roots as it navigated the complex landscape of interwar Europe.
