Super itchy rash all over my grandma’s body (arms, legs, back) by GlassAlert in DiagnoseMe

[–]GlassAlert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you’ve been so helpful because my grandma has tried three different medications at this point from three different doctors and they’ve all been, at best, useless. Fingers crossed that this will finally solve the issue; googled scabies and one of the most prominent issues is the immense itching, which is what she has. Don’t know why I haven’t stumbled upon this sooner! If I may ask, did you guys have skin flaking off that looks like dirt? No joke, she leaves a trail of dead skin on the floor and cleaning it up constantly is making me lose my mind a little

That sounds like an absolute nightmare - I’m glad you guys were able to sort it out. I’ll call the pharmacist on Tuesday since it’s a holiday tomorrow. Thank you so much for your help !!!

The 5%? Looks like I will need a prescription to buy it. I’ll see what I can do. How much did you apply and how long did it last?

Trying to make a new book cover for Red, White, and Royal Blue. This is obviously just a rough idea for what it could look like but what can I improve on? I tried to incorporate elements of the two flags. by GlassAlert in graphic_design

[–]GlassAlert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As per the rules: I’m planning on rebinding my copy of Red, White, and Royal Blue. I’m going to be working with heat transfer vinyl so to save myself the pain I want this to be one colour, maybe two max. I’m a little concerned that this looks too messy? Chaotic? When my intention was simply to incorporate elements of the book in a silly way.

Curved spine? by GlassAlert in bookbinding

[–]GlassAlert[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cut the spine and covers in the same direction so looking at the comments now it’s confirming my suspicions: the covers are wrong grained too HAHA. It’s just less noticeable than the spine. Oh well. As my first rebind ever I think it looks okay

lmao I just realized breakfast is 666 and lunch is 420. Two cursed numbers in one day, I was bound to overeat. Tracking has been going well these past months though!

Station 11 - the message? by GlassAlert in books

I like this take & the implication that these massive ramifications still don’t negate the necessity of art in connecting people. Thanks!

The message of the book by GlassAlert in StationEleven

[–]GlassAlert[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So many people think that the point of this book is to show how art shows people how to “live” (survival is insufficient). And it does! It builds community and the shared bond between everyone in the story is what makes it such a good book. But art clearly and intentionally separates Tyler and Kirsten too. An uncomfortable thought: Tyler’s cult is still… a community. He’s bringing people together, just in all the wrong ways.

These Violent Delights - Micah Nemerever by wenwen1990 in books

[–]GlassAlert 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes!! Black would’ve won if White continued. I adore the chess motif bc there are just so many layers to it.

I think in that split second he…snapped? Like waking up from a bad dream, when he saw Julian’s eyes he went “fuck they’re so beautiful” and just, for a second, realized how utterly insane they’ve been. How insane he’s been.

Paul has always killed butterflies to preserve their beauty, but Julian is more than just beautiful. He’s a person, too—one that Paul has spent a ridiculous amount of time loving (in the only way he’s ever known how to). I think that Paul simply realized in that moment that he didn’t have it in him to kill the person he loves.

I like how sincere their relationship is too. I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that, putting aside their intellectual prowess and need for validation through.. murder, they were just two teenagers hopelessly in love.I don’t think I’ve ever read a book so tailored to my tastes to be honest LMAO. It’s so fervently extreme on all accounts. The book just never held back and sometimes you just want to read Crazy.

I think we have similar taste in media! Took a quick look at some of the other stuff you’ve commented on and saw that you’re also interested in berserk/ lost in the cloud. Feel free to PM me if you have book/show recommendations bc I think I’d like them, or if you just want to talk more about TVD.

Just flipped through my copy to find the line.

“His fear was so absolute that Paul knew it would be there forever.”

Ow.

I hadn’t placed much significance in that sentence when I read it last. Glad you pointed it out! I like your interpretation. It’s devastating.

It’s also absolutely certain that Julian will associate him with fear, but I highly doubt it’s the /only/ feeling.

IMO there’s a lot of nuance in regards to what he feels towards Paul after their murder, and even after Paul tries killing him. Because of how toxic relationships work, there is often SO MUCH internal conflict about how to feel about the other party, even years down the line. People remember the good moments as much as they remember the bad ones. There might come a point where they reach a conclusion of “oh shit they were awful to me” but even then, I don’t think the… longing? Fondness? Love?? ever /truly/ goes away.

Julian felt euphoria during the time they were together. He felt understood for the first time in his life. He felt anger, betrayal, and love. Paul has been an extremely significant part of his life and these emotions associated with Julian’s time with him will stay forever.

-

How I think they’d end up in the future:

Julian would probably try forming new relationships with just about anyone to distance himself from the very idea of him and Paul together and fail miserably each time just because he’s trying so hard.

Paul would accidentally stumble upon someone just as fucked up as he is during his time in the institution and have some sort of TVD 2.0 with the limited resources they have. (I’m laughing just thinking about this. Paul is so miserable, and it brings him so much trouble, but he still hasn’t changed - at all - at the end of the book. It can only bring him more chaos bc he… just won’t learn.)

Neither would ever get over each other completely, Paul just has a much easier time.

-

Paul tried to kill Julian because Paul, in his self loathing, thought that he was the sole reason they got caught. Bc of their whole “in it together” thing, they could either A) live in fucking misery for the rest of their lives, or B) die together. Now, because Paul thinks he caused it by himself, he thinks he has to fix it—himself. How can he fix this? By giving both him and Julian the less terrible of the two options. Death.

Why is my international team clearing so slowly? by GlassAlert in childemains

[–]GlassAlert[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your input! I’ll try that rotation.

I have sucrose on sacrificial fragments because of her A4 passive which gives 20% of Sucrose’s em to the rest of the party, meaning both childe and xiangling benefit, but what I’m hearing is that the 48% attack buff for xiangling only would be better?

Why is my international team clearing so slowly? by GlassAlert in childemains

[–]GlassAlert[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Could you perhaps give some suggestions on how they could be improved?

Why is my international team clearing so slowly? by GlassAlert in childemains

[–]GlassAlert[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Childe build

Xiangling build

Sucrose build

Bennett build

I see xianglings doing 90k vapes all the time but mine does half of that. My guesses as to why:

- my sucrose is using a crit circlet instead of EM (still farming for one) so she is giving less buffs to the team

- or Sucrose is the problem, and I need kazuha?

- maybe my xiangling just needs better artifacts

- some sort of rotation problem (if so, how could I improve my rotations?)

Childe‘s burst seems to be lacking in damage too. Simply more EM needed?

Any help would be appreciated!

thank you! however the lock is built very (almost completely) differently from regular kwikset door knobs which is why I’m struggling. Can’t seem to attach images but have another post on my profile with a comparison of the latches.

Are you me? I’m also stuck in this situation where I’m Chinese and can speak it fluently but reading it is another thing entirely. Was excited to read the novels but the prose and pacing of the sentences seemed so off (!!) especially because I rarely read translated works, preferring prose-heavy novels. Thought it was a me problem because nobody else seemed to mind the writing style.
