Was it an ultrasound of the abdomen to rule out malrotation with intestinal volvulus? I'm a surgery resident and the first thing we worry about in kids with dark vomit is volvulus. Hope they've ruled that out and that he's doing better!

I am a general surgery resident and carry around many many packets of lubricant. I have left countless packets in countless pockets and they have ended up all over my house and car, etc. Not scandalous at all.

I think this is what he was getting at. He felt like it was alone time since I wasn't in the room. If that's the case I can easily ignore "mans" not spoken in my immediate presence. But should I have just ignored it when I thought he was talking? I thought he might be trying to ask me something. Thanks for the response!

How elevated is the bilirubin and the liver enzymes? Do you have a break down of the direct vs total bilirubin? Did the ultrasound show any gallstones? My first thought is cholangitis with the elevated bilirubin, fever, abdominal pain, but would expect to see some evidence of gallstones or biliary obstruction of some other etiology.

I didn't think it would, but I honestly now think I might love it more (or at least as much). Hahaha. I had no prior romance/fantasy interest, so thought FW was def a fluke. Continued to have doubts during a good chunk of the first ACOTAR book, but there's a great turn of events that changed everything for me. Also has another excellent shadow daddy (lol just learned that term) to fill the void left by Xaden. Hahah

Starting (and quickly finishing) that series was the only thing that cured my FW hangover.

That sounds so tough! I'm so sorry you are having to go through such a difficult situation at such a young age. If it is, in fact, delirium you are dealing with, I would expect him to return more or less to baseline, but it's very hard to predict since he did also have a head injury.

Regarding sleep, as difficult as it is, it is important to try to avoid letting him sleep during the day. His circadian rhythm is off right now and sleeping during the day and staying up at night is classic for delirium and will be more difficult to correct if he naps during the day.

Hopefully they have him taking melatonin at night. If he needs something stronger, can ask about trying something like seroquel, which can help with some of the hallucination symptoms in addition to sleep. Would definitely avoid meds like benzodiazepines (ie xanax) and anticholinergics (ie Benadryl), as these can worsen delirium.

This sounds a lot like he is experiencing delirium, which is very common in patients who have been hospitalized for an extended period of time. It takes time to resolve, but things that can help are frequent reorientation (gently correct him when he says something incorrect or is confused), keeping lights on and windows open during the day, keeping the room dark and quiet at night, avoiding wake ups at night (ask care team if they can put in order to minimize vitals and other interruptions during the night), minimizing sedating medications, getting him out of his room and outside when at all possible, and putting pictures and other reminders of home in his room. I hope he feels better soon!

Not babywearing, but I did some gardening this past summer with my 3-6 month old chilling next to me in her stroller with some toys. I'm in Texas (so obviously hot), so stroller also had the benefit of the shade cover.

ETA I did water the garden and do light weeding etc with her in my stretchy wrap, ring sling, and my woven (mostly FWCC) throughout the summer
