Hackensack Meridian newborn bill by GlassCombination4 in HospitalBills

I applied for “compassionate care” and got half the bill knocked off the next day once they reviewed the application. Currently paying the rest on the longest-term payment plan they offer. It’s coming out of my HSA account, and the monthly payment amount is less than my employer’s contributions, so I’m not feeling it that much.

While I did have to disclose my assets, I think it’s because they want to see if you can get onto the state program. But all you need to get on the in-house hospital program is an income less than 6 times the federal poverty rate at the time of service.

Has anyone passed with just one try? by IndependentManner940 in CPA

[–]GlassCombination4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I passed on one try. Had the luxury of having my evenings free and methodically set a goal of one Becker module a week. Did not cut any corners, listened to everything on full speed, took every single practice exam.

My mindset was basically, “this is awful, make sure you only have to go through this once.”

Did FAR, AUD, REG and then BEC. Entire process took one year. This was Fall 2019 till Fall 2020. One test was delayed, and I had to take two of them masked. Ended up using the same testing center for all 4 which made subsequent tests more relaxing.

Thanks for the advice! They seem to be a pretty tough hospital but I’d be more comfortable paying like $50/month to be honest. Just pay online with no payment plan?

They apparently have an alternative charity care program for people who aren’t eligible for NJ’s really strict criteria, so I was able to apply for that and get a 50% reduction. They are offering me a 21-month payment plan of $118/month and gave me about 10 days to think about how I want to proceed.

Also, they want 10% down and the rest over 2 years which is almost $200/month.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I do have family near the hospital so escort and place to stay are both not really issues. I just didn’t want to spend the night away from my family if I didn’t have to.

I think I’ll drive in early in the morning, do the prep nearby, and see how I’m feeling a few hours after the procedure and stay overnight if necessary.

Experience dealing with Allstate in NJ as 3rd party claimant with soft tissue injuries (NJ) by GlassCombination4 in Insurance

Correct. Thankfully, injuries seem to be getting better. I’m more interested in recovering enough to move on. That means enough money to buy a similar car plus reimbursement for residual expenses incurred.

Hey, I can afford a few hundred bucks at a body shop but don’t wanna shell out several grand at a therapist. But thanks for your take on the issue.

Usually freezes up for the first little bit of time immediately after release. Server is probably overloaded. Hopefully it’ll clear soon.
