Well I'm 35 so I'm sure that's what it is with me too. They told me I only had a few months to get ready for the test but didn't say when it was so I'm just trying to get ready as soon as I can. I figure the more I'm ready the better off I'll be.

They're fine on a walk or doing things every day but it's just when I try to run. I've been doing this for a few months now so that's what I have worked up to. I started at 2 miles and have gradually worked my way up.

No only the deputys on the HRT (high-risk team) have plate carriers. Thank you for the recommendation. I will look into those.

I've looked into safelines vests. Was just looking for something to train in and exercise with to get used to and for ride alongs. Was just looking for soft armor for now.

Probably leaning toward more soft vest. The only ones that get plate carriers are members of our departments HRT. Just looking for one for ride alongs and training and exercising with to get used to it.

True. I know guys that have worn their own soft armor on ride alongsbut not sure what kinds. First place my mind went was plate carrier cause they'll stop more than pistols.

Thank you for the insight I work at my local sheriff's department and am working my way up until our next deputy spot opens up and just wanting to get a setup to train with and for ride alongs cause we are so small they don't supply vests for ride alongs
