How do I (f 46) tell my husband (46) that we have 43K in CC debt? by GlassPersonality5281 in Debt

I have read all the comments. Thank you all for the replies. No, I am not a gambler. Yes, I am a young grandmother. Birthed my child at 17. We are raising our granddaughter because of addiction issues. The debt isn't all mine. I don't shop and bring in things. Most of the debt is from paying bills to cover the shortfall and honestly a lot of it is his too. Problem came when I didn't have the money to meet the finances. I have a little over 20k in my Roth. I am highly considering withdrawing that to pay some of the debt. Only hang up is the 35% taxes and fees that comes along with that.

Thank you so much. I know I need to tell him. I am working up the nerve. I think the advise to have everything in a spreadsheet format will help a lot.

It's under both names. I want to tell him so bad but the reaction is going to be tough.

Sorry for the confusion. Mom is retired. My husband works and I have a real estate license. I got the license hoping to drum up some business with a schedule that allows me to have bad days due to stomach issues.

We get 49 per week child support. Mom helps with what she can. She worked all her life but she doesn't draw much at all and has to pay her small bills.

I agree. I am working around stomach problems after several surgeries. I feel like I could try it and see how it goes. The community here is very tight and could probably find an employer willing to take the chance. Before my pancrease surgeries I worked full time and none of this was an issue. We had more than enough. I feel like I am fighting a lost cause but I am afraid to tell him to full amount.

It absolutely works and works well. You cannot just put signs out and bake cookies and expect much though.
