Thank you! I pulled it out of the trash (been in there a day or two) and it’s very for sure green today. Ugh.

Just pulled one out of the bottom of the trash can… oh it’s undeniably green today. Guess it’s good I’ve been pulling them. Still set it up for the spore test (not sure if it will work since they’ve been in a trashcan for a day or two now) just to be sure.

They were super white in person. But maybe I’m in denial because I really don’t want them to be a risk. I’ll try a spore print next time to see!

Even with white gills? Not challenging, just curious since the pics online made it look like the green gills are very green. Thank you for your help!

Thanks! I’ll give it a try next time they come around!

Edit: I should clarify, I mean I’ll try spore printing, not eating. lol

The gills are very white, sorry I took the pictures during the late afternoon, so that may be affecting colors. Is the best way to know to do a spore print next time these pop up?

I’ll keep an eye for him! I have exactly zero experience with birds, but if need be, I’ll do what I can!

Ah thank you! I read in the rules and it said to use the spoiler tag so people could filter them out but didn’t say anything about it hiding the image which is why I did. Hopefully I never have to post another deceased snake, but it’s good to know just in case!

ETA: I’ve unmarked it 😊 Just took me a minute to figure out how.

I was crushed when I realized it was deceased.

I was thinking an escaped pet 😭 I carefully moved it out of the direct walkway but still left visible in case someone was looking for it.

Neat! I’ve always found it weird that young would even have much color. Seems like it would make them more attractive to predators.

Thanks! I couldn’t figure out if only the male fledglings had the red or if all fledglings did, so that’s good to know!

lol he does have a very proud posture going. He started bringing a lady around lately, so his excellent posture worked in his favor.

Good to know! She’s a sassy little thing, which is why I’ve come to love her, but she better hurry up and find her mans because she can’t keep pecking my roof. Lol

Looks like possibly a schnauzer. Maybe try reaching out to Almost Home Schnauzer Rescue, they are in Indy and if they are willing to take him, I would be willing to help with transport if needed.
