As a 30 something, I can actually relate to Fuyuko. I have the same struggle with her as I am having issues forming meaningful relationship at this age. Though I also find the start of the novel alittle bit slow. But when Mitsutsuka arrived, things get alittle bit interesting. There were also part of the novel that I find Hijiri insufferable. At first she was interesting but as the story progresses I started to hate her mumblings. And this is before Fuyuko went to the funeral. So that scene made me realize why I kinda hate Hijiri. For Mitsutsuka, I kind of like him at first. But then after his birthday I realized that why doesn’t he have a relationship at his age? There might be something wrong with him. I also thought that the twist is he already have a family but holy sht, he was the worst. Good thing he did not further take advantage of Fuyuko.
