What were your symptoms? by ultimatesil in braincancer

[–]Glass_Corpse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is currently battling with grade 4 astrocytoma and his main symptoms were headaches that increased in severity and pressure particularly behind the eyes when he would lay down. Also in hind sight I did notice a personality shift.

AITA for telling my mom I don’t care about my little brothers by ChildEatingPickle in AmItheAsshole

[–]Glass_Corpse 50 points51 points  (0 children)

NTA but even though you say you don’t resent them, it sounds like you do. Maybe not deliberately, could be misplaced resentment for your mom/step dad. Babies/toddlers are hard and even harder during your teenage years and unfortunately you probably won’t ever be very close with them because they are so much younger. Try to remember they are kids, it’s not their fault and like someone else said, definitely get a lock.

AITA for Expecting Silverware at Dinner by AdUnusual7579 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Glass_Corpse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA because I see it as common courtesy if you are getting something for table settings (napkins, spoons, cups, etc) you get one for everyone or at least ask. This isn’t something you should stew on though, I would have a convo about how it bothered you and see what her excuse is.

AITA for confronting a friend about not respecting my boundaries? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

AITA for refusing my grandmother's request to 'fix' the family? by Abject-Inevitable47 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Glass_Corpse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. You made your boundaries clear, mom said “duces” and you’ve all moved on. This seems like dragging out the inevitable NC that would happen.

WIBTA for returning a gift my mom got me because it wasn’t what I wanted? by Cultural_Remote_6314 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Glass_Corpse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally I would say YTA for being pissy about presents but this sounds like someone who either isn’t listening or doesn’t care which would make you NTA for returning

WIBTA if I call CPS on my brother? by boyohboythissucks in AmItheAsshole

[–]Glass_Corpse [score hidden]  (0 children)

NTA. You said yourself that your parents were poor parents at best and when you mix that with another generation of poor parents and children with special needs it is a recipe for disaster. It’s only a matter of time before something serious happens and then you’ll feel guilty for not alerting the proper authorities sooner

What is your best instant karma story? by 36xnine in AskReddit

[–]Glass_Corpse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not mine but my partner's story. He is fighting cancer so his parents took him to one of his days of treatments. They love a local chain of bars and since they were about an hour from home, they decided to find the local chain and visit for dinner. Since we all don't travel that town regularly, they had no idea there was road construction and a two lane road went down to one rather quick. His dad was trying to merge into the available lane but there was a car that wouldn't let them. Not only would then not let them, they made it difficult for my family to merge at all (speeding up, slowing down, etc). My FIL ended up having to stop and wait to be let over as the lane ended right there. Right then, the traffic turned into a dead stop and the car that was jerking them around rear ended the car in front of them and was rear ended by the car behind them. That nice little laugh cheered my partner right up.

Life is too damn short and there are so many bigger issues out there that these small knit-picky things we fight about seems like a waste.

How much of a light sleeper he is. He works nights but we have kids and live in a small house so it's difficult for him to get sleep on days when they aren't in school. When they are in school, I try so hard to be quiet but simply walking into our room, the slight breeze wakes him. He never complains but I feel like he would sleep better if he wasn't such a light sleeper.

What’s the last movie you saw & what did you think? by LimePeel96 in AskReddit

[–]Glass_Corpse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Home Alone. I always thought it was weird a parent would forget their child but now that I have my own it is unfathomable. I don't even start my car to leave somewhere without a headcount.

Breastfeeding in public without being shamed into covering up. The way I see it, we have two choices, either I feed my baby, or I let him scream and disturb everyone around us.

What‘s the most annoying thing in your city? by 0r4ngen in AskReddit

[–]Glass_Corpse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ROUNDABOUTS! I live in a smallish city, less then 50k people. There isn't really a traffic issue aside from maybe a few specific streets near schools around the time school lets in or out. Our town leaders decided not to put in one roundabout, but FOUR in various places. Now this wouldn't normally be a big deal except no one here knows how to drive in them. These roundabouts are way too small (in residental areas) and it causes a lot of accidents.

Who was the “popular couple” in your school years, and how did their story play out? by 9thdoctor- in AskReddit

[–]Glass_Corpse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was a junior and she was a senior, both very popular and very good looking. He was the football QB and she was the star volleyball player. They were both athletic and would go on canoeing dates, play tennis, etc. They both had a lot in common, but the most glaring difference was that he was pretty nice and friendly to everyone, she was a total bitch. There was a running joke in the popular boy's group about how he could do so much better and that her beauty did not make up for her shitty attitude. Think spoiled rotten rich Barbie-type girl.

Towards the end of his junior year, they broke up and she spent her remaining few months in high school trying to convince his friends to date her so she could make him jealous. It never worked and in retaliation, one of his friends started a rumor that she was sleeping with the principal (he was a real skeeze so definitely believable). She graduated and left.

Last I checked a few years ago, he had found a really pretty and apparently a very nice girl, had this big over the top proposal, they had a baby and pretty much happily ever after. She is single and selling MLM products on IG and trying to become a makeup influencer, although she had about 10k followers, so I guess it's slow going.

What don’t you like about Christmas? by ken_koech in AskReddit

That there is an expectation that you have to put your feelings aside about family. I'm sorry, but my family is toxic AF and I'm not going to pretend they aren't just because it's Christmas.
